Wiki Finance Expo Thailand 2026 was advertised as a one-day finance and technology event in Bangkok on April 24, 2026. That date has passed. The event page and the January announcement disagree about the venue, and public materials do not independently confirm the organizer’s projected attendance, speaker or exhibitor totals. Here is what was promoted—and what remains unverified.

Event Wiki Finance Expo Thailand 2026
City Bangkok, Thailand
Advertised date April 24, 2026; promoted as a one-day event
Venue WikiEXPO’s event page lists Shangri-La Bangkok. The January announcement names Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park. The available public materials do not establish whether the venue changed or one listing was wrong.
Format Expo and conference, according to the organizer’s promotional materials
Registration Advertised as free to register; that does not establish that travel, accommodation, meals or other services were free.
Promoted scale The announcement claimed more than 7,000 attendees, 50-plus speakers and 70-plus exhibitors. These are organizer-provided promotional figures, not independently verified totals.

The official event page currently identifies Shangri-La Bangkok. A January 28 announcement distributed through BTCWire identifies Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park. A third-party Eventbrite listing also shows inconsistent event details, including a separate April 29 date. These discrepancies do not establish which venue, if either, was used on April 24.

What kind of event was it?

WikiEXPO presented the Bangkok edition as a finance and technology exhibition spanning fintech, online trading, crypto and digital assets. Its stated purpose was to bring together startups, investors, financial companies and policymakers for industry discussion and networking. WikiEXPO describes itself as a financial-technology exhibition platform operated by WikiGlobal, with a focus on fintech, forex, blockchain and digital assets.

It was not established in the available materials as a government conference or regulator-led summit. Promotional descriptions such as “Asia’s premier” or “Asia’s largest” should be read as marketing, not as independently substantiated rankings.

What themes did the organizer promote?

The announcement listed broad subject areas rather than a detailed, independently documented session program. The themes point to the kinds of questions the event aimed to address, but do not demonstrate that particular products, partnerships or outcomes were presented.

Fintech and artificial intelligence

Fintech covers technology used to deliver or support financial services. AI applications may include fraud monitoring, customer-service automation, underwriting, compliance tools and data-driven decisions. The public materials do not identify specific AI products, case studies or speakers.

Crypto, digital assets and forex

The advertised scope included crypto and digital assets, alongside forex and online trading. The latter reflects WikiEXPO’s connection to brokerage and trading audiences. “Liquidity” in this context can refer to market access, execution and infrastructure for brokers or institutions; the announcement does not specify which sessions addressed it. The event’s subject matter is not an endorsement of any token, broker, exchange or trading strategy.

Web3, DeFi and DePIN

  • Web3 is a broad label for blockchain-based internet applications and ownership models.
  • Decentralized finance (DeFi) refers to financial services built on blockchain networks, often using smart contracts.
  • Decentralized physical infrastructure networks (DePIN) use blockchain-enabled or token-based systems to coordinate real-world infrastructure.

These were announced themes, not evidence that the expo validated any particular project or technology.

Tokenisation and real-world assets

Tokenisation represents an asset—such as a security, fund, property or commodity—through a blockchain-based token. Practical questions include what rights token holders actually receive, how assets are held and transferred, and how custody, compliance, settlement and liquidity work. The announcement does not establish that the event resolved those questions or presented specific offerings.

Stablecoins, payments and traditional finance

Stablecoins are digital tokens designed to maintain a relatively stable value. Their payment use raises questions about reserves, redemption, settlement finality, counterparty risk and regulation. Their inclusion on an agenda does not establish that they are legally approved payment instruments in Thailand. The broader “traditional-finance convergence” theme referred to possible interaction between banks, asset managers and payment providers and blockchain infrastructure; the materials do not identify participating banks or confirm partnerships.

ESG

Environmental, social and governance (ESG) considerations were also listed. The available announcement does not document specific sustainability metrics, climate-finance projects or ESG disclosures.

Who was the event intended for?

The organizer described a broad audience of innovators, investors, policymakers, startups, companies and financial professionals. The event page offered pathways for attendees as well as people seeking to become speakers, partners or media participants. That suggests both professional networking and commercial participation, but the public page does not disclose package prices.

For attendees, the potential value would depend on whether the sessions and contacts matched their role—such as developer, founder, investor, broker, compliance professional or payments executive. For exhibitors and sponsors, useful questions would include what a package includes, how leads are qualified, which professional groups and countries are represented, and what data-use terms apply. The stated attendance projection is not an audited measure of likely or actual leads.

What is—and is not—verified

  • Date and city: The official page and announcement identify Bangkok and April 24, 2026.
  • Venue: The official page and January announcement conflict. Available public materials do not resolve the discrepancy.
  • Free registration: The announcement advertised free event registration. It does not establish that associated costs or optional services were free.
  • Attendance and participation: The figures of more than 7,000 attendees, 50-plus speakers and 70-plus exhibitors come from promotional material. The available coverage repeats press-release claims rather than independently verifying final totals.
  • Event results: The available public material does not provide a verified post-event program, attendance register, recordings or results recap. It therefore does not establish what took place on the day or whether the advertised scale was reached.

A crypto.news republication carries substantially the same announcement and identifies it as press-release material; it is not independent confirmation of the promotional claims.

How to assess an expo like this

Broad themes can help identify whether an event is relevant, but they are not a substitute for a detailed agenda or due diligence. Before relying on an event for business or investment decisions, check:

  • Whether named speakers and concrete session descriptions are available, rather than only topic labels.
  • Whether networking is organized through meetings or introductions, or simply advertised as an opportunity.
  • Whether exhibitors and speakers are properly identified and, where relevant, subject to credible oversight.
  • Whether a trading or investment presentation is educational or promotional, and what conflicts of interest may apply.
  • For an exhibitor or sponsor, what is included in a package, how attendee information is handled, and whether attendance claims are audited.
  • For a past event, whether the organizer has published a program, recordings or other records that confirm what occurred.

Do not treat a company’s appearance, a speaker’s participation or an expo partnership as proof that a financial product is legitimate, a broker is regulated, a token will rise in value, or a trading approach is safe. Verify a firm’s legal identity and licensing with relevant authorities; understand custody and withdrawal terms; review conflicts of interest; and check local rules before sending money or personal information. The event materials do not provide a basis for an investment recommendation.

Why the subject matters beyond the expo

Fintech, digital payments and blockchain raise practical questions for businesses and consumers across Southeast Asia: how to move money across borders, protect users, manage custody and settlement, and comply with different national rules. A Bangkok gathering could provide a meeting point for people working on those issues. But an event’s location, announced themes or promotional scale do not by themselves prove that Bangkok leads the region, that policy changed, or that any technology achieved meaningful adoption.
