Because the two figures are described with different geographic labels—domestic for Wicked: For Good, North American for Sinners—the safest description is the comparison reported by ScreenRant, rather than treating it as a like-for-like audited total. The available figures do not establish either film’s current final lifetime gross.
Why a chart entry is not a cumulative record
Box-office charts can rank receipts over different periods. A weekend gross covers a particular weekend; a weekly gross covers a particular week; an opening weekend is a film’s initial weekend; and a cumulative gross adds receipts across a film’s run to date. Those figures answer different questions, so a single-week chart row cannot by itself show that a film has passed another movie’s lifetime total.

What “major chart” means here
The headline’s chart language refers to theatrical box-office performance, specifically the reported cumulative domestic/North American comparison. It does not mean that Wicked: For Good took Sinners’ place on every film ranking or on a current, comprehensive lifetime-gross chart.
