In a January 13, 2025 report, PerthNow said Banks had been living in Australia for about 18 months and dividing her time between Sydney and Los Angeles as she prepared SMiZE & DREAM’s first global store. In a February 2026 interview, Banks said, “Living in Australia has been a dream come true.” Those dated accounts describe her connection to Australia, but the available reporting does not confirm her precise residence or travel pattern as of October 2026. Why did Banks choose Sydney and ice cream?
Banks has linked the brand to childhood Friday-night ice cream outings with her mother, Carolyn London. In an interview with 2GB, as reported by Real Commercial, she said, “I’m obsessed with ice cream. My mum and I bonded over the years over ice cream because she was a single mum.” She described creating the company as a tribute to her mother.

She also said the business began producing in Melbourne for cruise accounts departing Australia and Asia.
