What did the sisters seek in the 2024 lawsuit?
Antonia and Johanna filed their first New York suit on June 12, 2024. As reported by the Associated Press, they said they lacked a complete accounting of proceeds from the sale of Tony Bennett’s music catalog and certain image rights to Iconoclast, and sought more information about transactions involving their father, the family trust and Benedetto Arts LLC.
The filing sought an accounting and an inventory, including records of receipts, disbursements, expenditures and tax returns. The sisters’ filing characterized the information they had received as incomplete: “Although Danny and his counsel have provided piecemeal information and produced some documents to petitioners’ counsel, the information provided raises more questions than answers and fails to provide anything close to an accounting of Tony’s assets and financial affairs,” it said. What allegations were added in 2025?
In further legal action filed in 2025 and reported April 1–2, the sisters alleged breaches of fiduciary duty and conflicts of interest. Their claims included excessive or unearned commissions and substantial loans or gifts to Danny and his children. They said their father’s plan was for his four children to be treated equally and sought damages and Danny’s removal as trustee. The reported account of the lawsuit does not establish that the alleged plan or transactions were proven in court. Associated Press, April 2, 2025

What did Danny Bennett say?
Danny’s spokesperson rejected the later lawsuit’s allegations, calling it “a baseless attempt to distort the public and the court’s understanding of Tony Bennett’s clearly stated wishes.” The spokesperson also said Danny followed his father’s plans with “integrity and care.” This is the defense response, not an adjudicated conclusion. Is the estate’s value known?
The reporting cited here does not establish a verified total value for Tony Bennett’s estate or the terms of the Iconoclast transaction. His career figures do not establish estate value: AP reported more than 70 albums and 19 competitive Grammy Awards, while The Independent reported more than 50 million records sold.
