A recall advisory covered one lot of 12-ounce Marketside Broccoli Florets sold at selected Walmart stores in 20 states. Check the lot code and best-if-used-by date on the package: if they match the details below, do not eat the broccoli—even if it has been frozen. Discard it.
Which Walmart broccoli was included?
The advisory applies only to one production lot of washed-and-ready-to-eat, 12-ounce Marketside Broccoli Florets. Braga Fresh said it does not apply to other Marketside products or other Braga Fresh products.
Check the package identifiers
- Product: Marketside Broccoli Florets, 12 ounces
- UPC: 6 81131 32884 5, printed on the back
- Lot code: BFFG327A6, printed on the front
- Best-if-used-by date: December 10, 2024
Use the lot code and date, as well as the product name and UPC, to identify the affected bag. The advisory does not cover broccoli simply because it is sold at Walmart or carries the Marketside name.

Why was the broccoli recalled?
Braga Fresh issued the precautionary advisory over possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. The concern arose after Texas Health & Human Services conducted random sampling at a Texas store and one of multiple samples tested positive. The FDA-posted notice reported no illnesses associated with this product as of its publication; it does not establish that the broccoli caused illness.

What should you do if you have the bag?
- Compare the bag with the identifiers above.
- If it matches, do not consume it. Braga Fresh’s announcement says: “Consumers who have this product in their possession should not consume and discard the product.”
- Discard it even if you froze it for later use. The announcement said the bags were past their best-if-used-by date and no longer in stores; that statement does not establish that the advisory was later formally terminated.
For questions about the advisory, Braga Fresh listed 877-456-7445 and [email protected]. The notice listed phone hours as Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pacific Time.

The FDA-posted company announcement is dated December 27, 2024, and FDA posted it on December 31, 2024. The notice says the affected bags were past their date and no longer in stores, but that is not confirmation of a later formal end to the advisory. FDA explains that an unmarked recall may be ongoing or completed and that recall notices remain online for three years before being archived: FDA recall listings and status information.
