In June 2025, some Fido subscribers reported that their monthly bills had gone up by $5. The reports, summarized by MobileSyrup, focused on some customers with bring-your-own-device plans; they did not establish which plans were affected, how many customers received an increase, or a confirmed reason for it. If your bill changed, compare its plan fee and adjustments with recent bills, then ask Fido to review any charge you cannot explain.
Why did some Fido bills go up by $5?
MobileSyrup reported on June 18, 2025, that some Fido customers said their monthly bills had increased by $5. One subscriber reported a $4 increase, so the amount varied in individual accounts. These were customer reports, not a published list of price changes covering all Fido customers.
Some customers speculated that the increase was connected to a free 30GB offer and a change to their plan terms. Other customers said their bills rose before the add-on appeared. The reporting did not confirm that the 30GB offer caused the increase, and it did not include an explanation from Rogers, which owns Fido. MobileSyrup’s June 18, 2025 report said it had contacted Rogers for more information.
Which Fido plans were affected?
The June 2025 report identified customer complaints involving some bring-your-own-device subscribers, but it did not name every affected plan or establish the full scope of the increase. It is not possible to conclude from that reporting that every Fido customer—or every customer on a particular plan—was charged more.

When did the increase take effect?
The June 2025 reporting did not establish an exact effective date for the bill changes customers described. Two later reports covered separate price notices, and their dates should not be applied retroactively to the June 2025 reports:
- November 2025 notice: MobileSyrup reported a customer notice for a $5 increase plus tax, beginning with the customer’s next bill on or after December 2, 2025. The report cautioned that it might not apply to all customers. Read the November 2025 report.
- June 2026 notice: MobileSyrup reproduced wording from a different customer’s bill notice stating that the monthly wireless plan fee would rise by $5 plus tax on bills on or after July 15, 2026. The notice attributed the increase to supporting investments; that explanation belongs to this later notice, not the June 2025 reports. Read the June 2026 report.

If the new amount no longer works for your budget, compare alternatives using the total monthly cost after discounts, data allowance, coverage where you live and travel, contract or device-financing terms, and one-time switching costs. The June 2025 report mentioned one customer being offered a move to Rogers at a lower price; that single account report does not establish a generally available offer.
