DJT closed at $8.22 on October 7, 2026, according to Yahoo Finance. That single closing price does not establish how far the stock has fallen over a defined period or why it moved. TMTG’s latest reported results and its proposed merger with TAE Technologies provide important context, but neither proves the cause of a particular day’s trading.
What does the latest DJT price tell us?
The available market observation is a closing quote: DJT was $8.22 per share at the October 7, 2026 close. It is not an October 8 live quote, and by itself it cannot substantiate the claim that the stock is “crashing again.” Establishing a decline requires a dated comparison window and prices at both endpoints; explaining it requires evidence that connects the move to a specific catalyst.
Without a historical price series for a stated period and corroborated reporting about contemporaneous trading, it would be misleading to assign a percentage decline or identify a cause. The quote is a time-specific market fact, not an explanation. Check DJT market data for dated historical prices.
What did Trump Media report in Q2 2026?
TMTG reported a $238.1 million net loss and a $223.5 million adjusted EBITDA loss for the second quarter of 2026. These are company-reported figures. The company said much of the net loss was non-cash, including $190.4 million in unrealized losses on digital assets, pledged digital assets, and equity securities, as well as accreted interest and stock-based compensation. Those losses help explain the reported quarter, but they do not show that DJT fell by a particular amount—or that these accounting items caused its October 7 price. The earnings figures and the market quote refer to different dates and measure different things. Adjusted EBITDA is a non-GAAP measure, so it should not be treated as interchangeable with net income or cash flow.
Why can digital-asset prices affect TMTG’s reported results?
TMTG reported holding approximately 14,139 bitcoins as of July 31, 2026, including pledged bitcoin, with an aggregate fair market value of approximately $890.5 million under the filing’s stated valuation date and reference price. A large digital-asset position can make reported results sensitive to price changes and accounting valuations. That context does not establish that bitcoin movements drove a specific DJT trading session. The holdings are described in TMTG’s Form 10-Q for the quarter ended June 30, 2026.

What are Truth Social and TMTG’s other businesses?
TMTG is the publicly traded company; Truth Social is its social platform, and Truth+ is its streaming service. The company also announced Truth API, a licensed business-to-business feed of public posts from selected accounts. These are distinct products and initiatives, not separate publicly traded stocks. TMTG’s filings and company announcements describe its businesses and services (Form 10-Q; Truth Social company account).
The Associated Press reported on August 10, 2026, that management intended to refocus on the social-media business after expanding into other lines. Interim CEO Kevin McGurn characterized the shift as a choice “to pivot in order to invest more time and resources in our most important initiatives,” as quoted by AP. That is management’s description of its strategy, not independent evidence that the refocus has improved performance or produced a turnaround. Associated Press report.
Is the proposed TAE Technologies merger complete?
No completion is established by the cited information. TMTG and TAE Technologies filed a Form S-4 registration statement on September 30, 2026, for a proposed merger. A registration filing is part of a transaction process; it should not be described as a completed merger unless a later filing confirms that status. TMTG’s announcement describes the filing and proposal: TMTG investor relations.
A proposed transaction may matter to investors assessing the company’s direction, but its announcement or filing alone does not demonstrate that it will close, establish its eventual effects, or explain a particular DJT price move.

How to assess a claim that DJT is “crashing”
- Set the period: Specify start and end dates, and whether prices are closing or intraday values.
- Calculate the change: Compare the two prices over that same interval; do not infer a percentage from one quote.
- Separate performance measures: Distinguish the stock’s market move from company-reported earnings and non-cash valuation changes.
- Attribute explanations: Label statements as company claims, management strategy, or independent reporting. Do not present a plausible factor as the proven cause of a session’s move.
- Check transaction status: An announced or filed proposal is not a completed merger.
These distinctions matter particularly for DJT: the company’s reported digital-asset exposure, product strategy, and proposed merger are relevant context, but the evidence cited here does not tie any one of them to the October 7 close.
