White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said the White House Medical Unit responded and that he was okay. The report did not confirm his identity or explain what caused him to collapse.
What happened during the announcement?
Live television footage showed a man slumping to the floor during the event. People nearby helped lower him, and Medicare and Medicaid administrator Mehmet Oz supported him under the shoulders, according to Futurism’s November 6, 2025 report.
Leavitt described him as “a representative with one of the companies” involved in the announcement. She said the White House Medical Unit “quickly jumped into action” and that “the gentleman is okay,” adding that the press conference would resume shortly.
Was the man identified?
No confirmed identity was given in the report. Social media initially identified him as Novo Nordisk executive Gordon Findlay, but that identification was disputed. Futurism updated its account to note that the man had not been identified, so Findlay should not be presented as the person who collapsed.

What was the drug-price event about?
The Oval Office event concerned an initiative framed as lowering prices for GLP-1 weight-loss medicines, including Wegovy and Zepbound. Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk were named in connection with the announcement. The report does not establish final prices, eligibility rules, or implementation terms, so it does not show what patients could ultimately pay or who would qualify.
Is the cause of the collapse known?
The report provides no diagnosis or explanation for why the man fainted. The footage and Leavitt’s statement establish that he collapsed and that White House medical staff responded; they do not establish a medical cause or further details about his condition.
