Private 5G is a dedicated cellular network for an organization, not simply a radio purchase. Buyers can choose among network-equipment vendors, enterprise-focused providers, carriers, cloud marketplaces, integrators and managed-service providers. An offer may include radios, a cellular core, SIMs or eSIMs, edge software, orchestration, installation and ongoing operations—but the bundle and who runs it differ by seller. Start by deciding what you want to operate yourself, then compare the complete system and contract.
Who sells private 5G?
The market is a mix of technology suppliers and companies that design, integrate, resell or operate networks. The examples below are representative, not a global ranking; product availability and service terms can vary by country.

#1 Best Overall
- DUAL-BAND WIFI 6 ROUTER: Wi-Fi 6(802.11ax) technology achieves faster speeds, greater capacity and reduced network congestion compared to the previous gen. All WiFi routers require a separate modem. Dual-Band WiFi routers do not support the 6 GHz band.
- AX1800: Enjoy smoother and more stable streaming, gaming, downloading with 1.8 Gbps total bandwidth (up to 1200 Mbps on 5 GHz and up to 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz). Performance varies by conditions, distance to devices, and obstacles such as walls.
- CONNECT MORE DEVICES: Wi-Fi 6 technology communicates more data to more devices simultaneously using revolutionary OFDMA technology
- EXTENSIVE COVERAGE: Achieve the strong, reliable WiFi coverage with Archer AX1800 as it focuses signal strength to your devices far away using Beamforming technology, 4 high-gain antennas and an advanced front-end module (FEM) chipset
- OUR CYBERSECURITY COMMITMENT: TP-Link is a signatory of the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) Secure-by-Design pledge. This device is designed, built, and maintained, with advanced security as a core requirement.
- Radio access: Indoor or outdoor access points or small cells, antennas, mounting and power accessories, and any band-specific approvals.
- Core and control: Cellular core functions for authentication, policy and traffic handling. Ask whether the core runs on site, at a provider location or in the cloud.
- Device onboarding: Physical SIMs or eSIM provisioning, endpoint certification and lifecycle management.
- Edge compute: Local application processing, if needed. Confirm hardware, software, hosting, redundancy and support.
- Orchestration and management: Provisioning, monitoring, configuration, policy and multi-site management.
- Integration and security: Connections to the existing LAN or WAN, identity and access controls, IT/OT segmentation, application integration and incident responsibilities.
- Deployment and operations: Site survey and design, installation, testing, optimization, documentation, training, managed operations and service levels.
Celona’s subscription illustrates why line-item checks matter: its documentation lists access points, AP accessories, SIM cards, Edge Software and Orchestrator, while identifying the Edge Appliance and external antennas as separate purchases. Celona’s portable Airkit is a different, bundled evaluation package; its documentation lists an access point, edge device, switch, 20 SIMs, cloud orchestration and a three-year subscription. Those details describe that kit, not every Celona deployment. Celona 5G LAN components; Celona Airkit.
Cisco’s service model is intended to reduce heavy upfront investment, but its description still mentions on-premises 5G radio access points and implementation. Treat “as a service” as a commercial or operating model, not proof that hardware and site work disappear. Cisco Private 5G service.
Should you operate the network or buy a managed service?
The offer may be equipment and software you operate, a service run by a supplier, or a shared-responsibility arrangement. Make the division of work explicit rather than inferring it from the product name.

For any model, identify who is accountable when a fault crosses supplier boundaries. Ericsson’s description of multi-vendor deployment makes that allocation particularly important. Ericsson Private Networks.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Do you need your own spectrum?
Not necessarily, but the network needs a lawful spectrum arrangement that works at the deployment location. Private networks can use shared, unlicensed or licensed spectrum. Ericsson describes U.S. CBRS as a lightly licensed shared-spectrum model and says an operator may lease licensed spectrum to an enterprise or third party. Samsung identifies CBRS as the U.S. 3.5–3.7 GHz band. Rules and available bands differ across jurisdictions, so confirm local authorization, certified radio variants and device-band compatibility before comparing bids. Ericsson spectrum overview; Samsung CBRS.
Nokia’s September 2022 announcement describes an industrial 5G fieldrouter and dongle for North American private wireless applications, including CBRS, and a portfolio spanning private 4.9G/LTE and 5G. This establishes a documented product category, not current stock or compatibility with every CBRS or private 5G design. Nokia fieldrouter announcement.

Cisco Private 5G service; AWS integrated private wireless.
- Draw the bundle boundary. Record what is included and separately priced across radios, core, edge, SIMs or eSIMs, management, security, support and installation.
- Assign operating ownership. Identify who plans, installs, integrates, validates, optimizes, monitors, patches and responds to incidents—and who is accountable for service outcomes.
- Check spectrum and endpoints. Verify local authorization, supported bands and radio certifications, plus compatibility of the intended devices and applications.
- Compare complete costs and exit terms. Include equipment, implementation, subscription term and renewal, per-site or per-device charges, edge and cloud costs, support, and data or service arrangements at contract end.
What the available figures do—and do not—show
Nokia’s July 21, 2020 announcement said its enterprise customers had deployed over 1,300 industrial networks worldwide. That is a historical, company-reported figure from that announcement; it is not a current deployment count or an independently audited market-wide statistic. Nokia’s 2020 announcement.
