Alva Energy announced on February 12, 2026, that Gelsinger had joined its board of directors. The company describes him as a general partner at Playground Global as well. Alva Energy’s announcement is the source for the board appointment.

How his post-Intel roles differ

Gloo’s team page lists Gelsinger as its executive chairman and head of technology, as well as a Playground Global general partner, with both roles dating from March 2025. Axios separately reported that he joined Playground Global and would become executive chair of portfolio company xLight. That earlier venture-capital move is not the Alva board appointment.

When did Gelsinger leave Intel?
Intel said Gelsinger retired effective December 1, 2024, after serving as CEO from February 2021 to December 2024. Intel’s biography and retirement materials document the timeline. Lip-Bu Tan became Intel CEO effective March 18, 2025, according to Intel’s 2026 proxy statement.
