Stellantis appointed Joao Laranjo as chief financial officer on September 29, 2025, effective immediately. He succeeded Doug Ostermann, whom the automaker said had resigned for personal reasons; the company did not provide further details.
Who is Stellantis’ new CFO?
Joao Laranjo became Stellantis’ CFO and a member of its Leadership Team with immediate effect on September 29, 2025, according to the company’s appointment announcement.
Stellantis described Laranjo as having more than two decades of finance and auditing experience. The company said he began his career at General Electric in 2001, including as an associate auditor and later as controller for GE Healthcare in South America. He joined Fiat Chrysler Automobiles in 2009 and held roles involving financial controlling and reporting, profit-and-loss management, treasury, financial planning and analysis, compliance, and accounting.
CEO Antonio Filosa said he had worked closely with Laranjo for 15 years and praised his financial acumen, results-oriented approach, and understanding of the automotive industry. That is Filosa’s assessment, not an independent performance measure.

Why did Doug Ostermann leave?
Stellantis said Ostermann resigned for personal reasons. Its September 29 announcement did not identify a more specific reason, so claims about any other motive are not established by the company’s statement.
