Paraag Marathe chairs the club and exercises the owner’s voting rights; Leeds says Marathe and San Francisco 49ers CEO Jed York each own more than 10% of the separate entity that holds those rights. Forbes estimated Denise York & family’s wealth at $10 billion on 11 September 2026, but that is a family-level estimate—not Jed York’s personal net worth or the value of Leeds United.
Who owns Leeds United?
The legal owner is 49ers Enterprises Global Football Group LLC, which owns 100% of Leeds United Football Club Limited. The club’s ownership page distinguishes that direct owner from 49ers Enterprises Partners LLC, the sole entity holding voting rights in the direct owner.
Leeds says Paraag Marathe and Jed York each own more than 10% of 49ers Enterprises Partners LLC. Marathe is Leeds chairman and exercises 49ers Enterprises’ voting rights as a director on the club board. The club does not publish exact percentages or a complete breakdown of the investors’ economic stakes.
Companies House records also identify Marathe and John Edward (Jed) York as people with significant influence or control over 49ers Enterprises Global Football Group Limited. That filing describes control, not exact beneficial ownership percentages.

When did 49ers Enterprises take over?
There are two relevant dates. Leeds announced EFL approval for the takeover on 17 July 2023. The club’s consolidated accounts to 30 June 2024 record that 49ers Enterprises Global Football Group LLC purchased the remaining share capital on 25 September 2023 and became Leeds United’s immediate parent.
The club’s 17 July announcement describes the approval and full-ownership transition; the later accounts specify the recorded purchase date. Companies House filing history shows group accounts to 30 June 2025 were filed on 12 April 2026.

What is the net worth of the Leeds United owners?
The clearest current public estimate concerns the York family, not an individual Leeds investor. Forbes estimated Denise York & family at $10 billion as of 11 September 2026, listing the San Francisco 49ers as the source of wealth. Forbes says the family owns more than 90% of the franchise.
That figure should not be reported as Jed York’s personal net worth. The Forbes estimate is for Denise York and her family collectively, and the available sources do not establish how that wealth is distributed among family members or other investors. No reviewed primary or official source states an individual net-worth figure for Jed York or Marathe, or for every Leeds investor.

The York family’s wealth is associated with its 49ers stake. The team’s official biography of Denise DeBartolo York identifies her as co-chairman and says her father, Edward J. DeBartolo Sr., bought the 49ers in 1977. The team biography of Jed York identifies him as CEO and principal owner and notes that he began his career as a financial analyst at Guggenheim Partners. Those details provide family and career context, but do not establish his personal net worth.
