Amperity appointed Tony Alika Owens CEO and a board member on November 12, 2024. That is a historical appointment, not the company’s current leadership: Amperity’s current executive profiles identify co-founders Derek Slager and Kabir Shahani as co-CEOs and Owens as its former CEO.
Who took over as Amperity CEO in 2024?
Amperity announced Owens’s appointment on November 12, 2024, naming him both chief executive and a member of the board. The company said he brought more than 20 years of executive experience at Salesforce and Oracle, including work scaling enterprise operations and global sales. Amperity’s announcement also described its platform and its business at the time.
Before joining Amperity, Owens was president of worldwide field operations at LivePerson. At Salesforce, he held progressively broader roles running field operations in the Americas and served on the executive committee; at Oracle, he was a group vice president. These roles made his background particularly focused on enterprise sales and operations.
Who leads Amperity now?
The CEO role changed again after Owens’s appointment. On June 11, 2026, GeekWire reported that Amperity co-founders Derek Slager and Kabir Shahani would become co-CEOs, while longtime CFO Amy Kelleran Pelly would also become president and remain CFO. Amperity’s current executive profiles identify Slager and Shahani as co-CEOs and Owens as former CEO.

Amperity told GeekWire that “Tony leaves Amperity stronger than he found it, and we’re grateful for his leadership and contributions to the company.” GeekWire described the change as a mutual transition. The available announcement and profiles establish the leadership change, but do not provide detailed terms for Owens’s departure.
What Amperity does
Amperity sells customer data platform (CDP) software to businesses. Its platform is designed to resolve customer identities and unify fragmented customer information with real-time signals, giving organizations customer context they can use across marketing, service, analytics and AI systems. This is enterprise software, rather than a consumer finance product.

In its November 2024 announcement, Amperity said more than 400 brands worldwide relied on its platform. That was the company’s own reported figure at the time, not an independently verified current customer count. Amperity’s company description explains its customer-data focus.

Historical scale figures help explain the company’s profile, but they should not be mistaken for current operating metrics. In its November 2024 report, GeekWire said Amperity had about 260 employees at the time. The article also reported that the company had reached a billion-dollar valuation in 2021 after raising $100 million, and that Amperity declined to provide revenue metrics. Those figures describe reported history, not the company’s current headcount, valuation, funding position or revenue. GeekWire’s 2024 coverage gives that context.

How the CEO role changed
- 2022: Co-founder Kabir Shahani left the CEO role; Barry Padgett succeeded him, according to GeekWire’s 2024 report.
- 2024: Padgett said he would step down. Chief customer and product officer Chris Jones served as interim CEO before Owens was appointed.
- November 12, 2024: Owens became CEO and joined Amperity’s board.
- June 11, 2026: GeekWire reported that co-founders Slager and Shahani became co-CEOs, and that Pelly became president while retaining the CFO role.
