A KKR-Singtel consortium was also selected. The proposed round, described as up to US$1 billion, was not then a completed transaction—and Bloomberg said it might not proceed. The later outcome was a KKR-Singtel investment followed by their acquisition of ST Telemedia’s remaining stake, completed in September 2026.
Who was reported on the 2024 shortlist?
Bloomberg News, in a report carried by Data Center Knowledge on February 1, 2024, named Apollo Global Management, Blackstone and Stonepeak Partners among the investors shortlisted to submit binding bids. It also reported that a consortium of KKR and Singtel had been selected. The report cited people familiar with the private process, who were not named. It did not establish that every shortlisted investor submitted a bid or advanced to a final round.
The reported fundraising target was up to US$1 billion, with binding bids expected in early April 2024. Bloomberg said the process could help establish a valuation benchmark for a possible initial public offering, but emphasized that deliberations were ongoing and the funding round was not guaranteed. The named firms and STT GDC declined or did not comment on specific details. Read the February 2024 report.
At the time, the report described STT GDC as managing more than 170 facilities across Singapore, India, China, Thailand, South Korea, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines and the UK. That is a historical figure reported in 2024, not a current facility count.

ST Telemedia announced definitive agreements for an initial KKR-led consortium investment with Singtel in June 2024. In 2026, KKR and Singtel agreed to acquire ST Telemedia’s remaining stake, and the acquisition subsequently closed.

What the later deal means for the other shortlisted investors
The confirmed transaction record identifies KKR and Singtel as the investors that first invested and then acquired ST Telemedia’s remaining 82% stake. The available announcements do not say whether Apollo, Blackstone or Stonepeak submitted bids, withdrew, or took part in later negotiations. Their appearance on the reported 2024 shortlist should not be treated as evidence that they made an offer or became owners.
