That figure is the outlet’s estimate, not a disclosed or audited financial statement, and no comparable published estimate exists for every other band member. What is behind the number
The same page ties Nicks’s wealth to two sources: her long run with Fleetwood Mac and her solo career. It also reports a songwriting-catalog transaction. In December 2020, according to Celebrity Net Worth, Nicks sold an 80% interest in her songwriting copyrights to Primary Wave in a deal that valued the catalog at $100 million.
That deal context matters, but it has limits. - Find the publisher and date. Note who published the figure and when the page was last updated. A figure from 2026 and one from an earlier year are not directly comparable.
- Look for the method statement. Check whether the outlet says its figures are estimates and whether it draws on public sources, private input, or both.
- Separate valuations from cash. If a catalog or company sale is cited, confirm whether the number is a deal value, a payment received, or an estimate of what the asset is worth today.
- Use the same outlet and date for every person. Mixing a 2026 estimate for one member with a multi-year-old figure for another produces a misleading ranking.
- Treat unexplained gaps as unknowns. If one member has no published estimate, say so rather than assuming a value.

Nicks’s early work with Lindsey Buckingham as the duo Buckingham Nicks predates their time together in Fleetwood Mac.
