As of Boeing’s latest cited announcement on September 30, 2026, publicly named 777X customers include 15 passenger airlines and cargo operators. Their orders cover different aircraft—the passenger 777-8 and 777-9, and the 777-8 Freighter—so reported totals are not directly comparable. This list reflects customers named in sources through that date, not a fully reconciled live order ledger.

Which airlines and cargo operators have ordered the Boeing 777X?

The publicly named customer list includes Emirates, Qatar Airways, Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines, Lufthansa Group, British Airways/IAG, China Airlines, ANA (All Nippon Airways), Korean Air, Etihad Airways, Air India, Cargolux, Ethiopian Airlines, Silk Way West Airlines and MSC Air Cargo. Some ordered passenger aircraft, some freighters, and some have orders across variants.

The quantities below are the reported figures in Aerospace Global News’ July 11, 2026 roundup, not an independently audited or live Boeing ledger. The roundup combines passenger and freighter variants where applicable. Ethiopian’s July figure predates Boeing’s September 30 announcement of an additional freighter order; MSC Air Cargo was named in July after its order had previously been unidentified in Boeing’s backlog.

What counts as a 777X order?

The 777X family includes the passenger 777-8 and 777-9, plus the 777-8 Freighter. A single customer total can combine these models, while an announcement may distinguish firm aircraft from options or identify an order previously recorded without a named buyer. Boeing’s 777X product page describes the family and its aircraft.

  • Firm orders: aircraft a customer has ordered, as described in the announcement.
  • Options: the right to order additional aircraft, not the same status as a firm order. China Airlines’ announcement explicitly separates its 14-aircraft firm order from options for nine more.
  • Previously unidentified orders: orders already present in Boeing’s backlog but not publicly attributed to a named customer. MSC Air Cargo’s five freighters were announced as previously unidentified; China Airlines’ firm order had also been listed that way.

How to interpret the totals

Aerospace Global News’ July 2026 roundup reports 619 aircraft across its listed customer groups. Treat that as the publication’s dated sum, not a confirmed September 2026 program total: the roundup’s figures combine variants, and its characterization of current firm orders cannot be fully reconciled with announcement-level options and orders that were previously unidentified. Boeing’s later MSC announcement should not simply be added to that figure because those five aircraft were already in its unidentified backlog. No exact whole-program count as of September 2026 is established by these cited announcements.

Emirates is the largest named customer in Boeing’s November 2025 announcement: after ordering 65 additional 777-9s, Boeing said Emirates’ reported order book stood at 270 777X aircraft. That is Boeing’s stated order-book figure, not a delivery count. In the same announcement period, Emirates said it expected first 777-9 deliveries in Q2 2027; this was a forward-looking expectation announced in 2025, not confirmation of delivery.
