Where you should sell a website depends on its business model, scale, and how much help you need with the sale. The current official seller information reviewed here supports three distinct starting points: Flippa for self-service listings or broker-led support, Empire Flippers for a curated marketplace process, and FE International for advisory-led sales of technology businesses. They are not a verified ranking, and the available information does not substantiate ten current venues or their seller terms.

How to choose a place to sell your website

Start with the asset you are selling, then compare how each venue handles the work and risk around the transaction. A content site, ecommerce business, and SaaS company may need different buyer expertise and sale support. The official pages reviewed describe different models, not a like-for-like set of guarantees or independently measured results.

  • Asset fit: Check that the venue accepts your type and scale of business.
  • Seller costs: Confirm any listing charge, success fee, sale term, and paid support. A low upfront cost does not establish a low total cost.
  • Support: Decide whether you need help with valuation, buyer screening, negotiation, due diligence, or transfer.
  • Confidentiality and diligence: Ask what business records buyers can see, when they can see them, and how access is controlled.
  • Transaction logistics: Verify payment or escrow arrangements, transfer assistance, geography, and eligibility directly with the provider.

Three verified starting points

Venue Sale model and stated fit What its official information describes What to verify
Flippa Self-service listings and a broker-led option for digital assets and online businesses Different self-service packages, plus broker support for buyer qualification and negotiation. Its pricing page gives a guideline of 12 months of consistent monthly net profit for broker fit, while noting that some businesses with growth or customer profiles may still be considered. [Flippa pricing] Current package price, term, success fee, eligibility, and the level of broker support available for your asset.
Empire Flippers Curated marketplace The company says it rejects most submitted businesses before publication, provides buyers diligence access to listing URLs, analytics, and profit-and-loss information, and helps with transfer. These are descriptions of its own process, not independent evaluations of outcomes. [Empire Flippers marketplace] Current acceptance criteria, fees, geography, confidentiality controls, and the exact scope of transfer help.
FE International Advisory-led sales of technology businesses, including SaaS, ecommerce, and content businesses Its seller page describes financial preparation, a confidential information memorandum, buyer positioning, transaction guidance, and early due-diligence support. [FE International seller page] Minimum size or other eligibility criteria, fee structure, geography, timing, and services included in an engagement.

What to check before you list

Get the complete fee picture

Ask for a written, current fee schedule that covers every charge: listing or submission fees, success fees, paid add-ons, and any costs that depend on the sale price or listing term. Flippa’s live pricing page displays different self-service packages and success-fee bands; check the page and confirm which apply to your asset before committing. [Flippa pricing]

Do not rely on an older fee article as if it were a current quote. Empire Flippers’ support article about listing fees is dated May 28, 2021; verify its present pricing directly instead of treating that historic schedule as current. [Empire Flippers fee article]

Confirm eligibility and asking-price rules

Ask whether your revenue, profit, operating history, asset type, and location qualify. For Flippa, its broker-fit guideline is not a guarantee of acceptance: the company says some businesses with particular growth or customer profiles may still be considered. Its support article published May 29, 2025 describes asking-price limits and valuation or approval rules for certain new, starter, template, and non-revenue assets. Check the current policy before setting a price. [Flippa asking-price policy]

Understand buyer access and confidentiality

Before sharing sensitive financial or traffic data, establish what a buyer must do to gain access, what information is visible publicly, and whether confidentiality protections apply. Flippa describes NDA-protected options, while Empire Flippers says its buyer diligence process can include listing URLs, analytics, and profit-and-loss information. Confirm the actual access steps for the listing you plan to make. [Flippa pricing] [Empire Flippers marketplace]

Define the help you expect

Ask who is responsible for preparing financial materials, qualifying buyers, negotiating offers, coordinating due diligence, and moving the site or business after closing. The three providers describe materially different levels of involvement; a venue’s general service description is not a substitute for confirming what is included in your specific engagement. FE International describes financial preparation and transaction guidance, Empire Flippers describes transfer assistance, and Flippa distinguishes self-service from its broker-led process. Why this is not a ten-site ranking

The title’s count should not be mistaken for a current, verified shortlist: the available official information substantiates three providers’ models, but not seller eligibility, geography, and terms for ten distinct venues. Do not choose a marketplace based on a list count. Verify the current seller page, fee schedule, acceptance rules, and transaction process directly before listing; those terms can change.
