Amazon’s UK help pages say that when an entire order is cancelled, it moves into that section. If only one item in a multi-item order was cancelled, that item stops appearing as part of the order in the Orders list, so you may need to check the rest of your orders and your email for the confirmation.
Find the cancelled order step by step
- Sign in to the Amazon account that was used to place the order. A cancelled order will not show under a different account, and a family member’s login will not reveal it.
- Open Your Orders. Amazon’s support pages describe this as the place to access order details and manage purchases.
- Select Cancelled Orders if that section or tab is shown. Amazon UK’s help page on cancelling items and orders says a fully cancelled order moves there.
- If the order is not in that section, check whether only one item was cancelled. Then search your inbox for Amazon’s cancellation confirmation, which is sent to the email address on the account.
The exact labels and placement are documented on Amazon UK’s help page, Cancel Items and Orders. Treat that page as the reference for the UK site. Other Amazon marketplaces, the app, and different devices may present the same section under slightly different names or in a different position.

Whole-order cancellations and single-item cancellations
The two cases look different on screen, so it helps to know which one you are dealing with.
- Whole order cancelled: the order moves into the Cancelled Orders area of Your Orders.
- One item cancelled from a larger order: the cancelled item no longer appears as part of that order in the Orders section. The rest of the order remains active. Use the cancellation email to confirm which item was removed.
Amazon Pay purchases from outside merchants
If you paid with Amazon Pay at a merchant’s own website rather than on Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk, the record is not in Your Orders. Amazon keeps those transactions separately in Your Amazon Pay Activity. Amazon’s Viewing orders and transactions help page explains the difference. Use Your Orders for purchases made on Amazon’s retail website and Your Amazon Pay Activity for Amazon Pay payments made elsewhere.

A charge still showing on your card
A cancelled order can still show a card entry, especially when the cancellation came before shipment. In many cases that entry is an authorization, meaning a temporary hold, rather than a completed charge. Amazon’s help page Identify an Amazon Charge notes that an authorization can appear on a statement without being an actual charge.
Amazon does not set a fixed timeframe for when an authorization drops off. That depends on your card issuer or bank. If the entry remains unclear after a cancellation, contact Amazon for the order details and your card issuer for how the hold is being handled. Do not assume that a visible entry means you were charged, and do not assume it has been refunded.

Confirm the order through Amazon’s cancellation email
The cancellation email is the most reliable record that a cancellation went through. A staff response in the Amazon Customer Service Forum dated June 3, 2020 gave the same guidance, pointing users to the Cancelled Orders area and the confirmation email. That answer is more than six years old, so use it as a supporting example rather than current policy, and rely on Amazon’s help pages for the present process.
If you still cannot find the order
When neither the Cancelled Orders area nor the confirmation email shows the order, contact Amazon Customer Service and choose the option that matches the order or account problem. Amazon’s Support Options and Customer Service page lists the self-service and contact routes. Have the order number, the date, and the payment method ready before you start, because these speed up the search.

Practical checklist
- Confirm you are signed in to the account that placed the order.
- Check Your Orders, then the Cancelled Orders area.
- For a partly cancelled order, compare the remaining items with the cancellation email.
- For Amazon Pay purchases at outside merchants, check Your Amazon Pay Activity.
- If a card entry remains, treat it as a possible authorization and check with your card issuer before assuming a charge.
A cancelled Amazon order is usually found in the Cancelled Orders area, while the email and payment records settle the remaining questions.
