Walmart does not have one battery aisle number for every store. Select the Walmart you’re visiting and search for the exact battery in the Walmart app or that store’s item locator; use the aisle shown for that location, or ask an associate. Household batteries and car batteries follow different shopping paths.
How to find household batteries at your Walmart
- Select your store. In the Walmart app or store locator, choose the specific store you plan to visit.
- Search for the battery you need. Enter the size or product name, such as “AA batteries,” and check whether the store provides an aisle location or local availability.
- Use the result only for that store. Aisle assignments can vary by location. If no aisle appears, ask an associate to look up the exact product or check the household batteries area.
Walmart described its “Search My Store” feature in 2014 as a way to show where items are located in a customer’s local store. That historical description supports the local-lookup approach, but it does not confirm today’s app screens or guarantee an aisle result. Walmart Corporate said the goal was “to help customers find the items they need more quickly and to make shopping at Walmart easier, faster and more accessible.” Read Walmart Corporate’s 2014 explanation.
A Walmart Corporate presentation from 2025 illustrates why you should not rely on an aisle number you see elsewhere: its Carrollton Supercenter mock-up places Great Value Alkaline AA Batteries (8 Pack) at Aisle A23. That is an example for that map, not a chain-wide battery location. See Walmart’s investment community presentations.
Check the battery size before you shop
Look at the label on the old battery, the device’s battery compartment, or the device instructions. Walmart’s household battery categories include common sizes such as AA, AAA, C, D, and 9-volt, along with hearing aid, lithium, and other specialty batteries. Once you know the size, check the product details for type and pack count as well. Walmart’s AA listings can help identify products, but an online listing does not by itself confirm that a particular item is in stock at your selected store or tell you its current aisle. Vehicle batteries are listed separately from household batteries in Walmart’s Auto & Tires battery category. Use its vehicle-fit options to check compatibility, or contact the local Auto Center. Walmart’s online category does not establish a universal in-store aisle for car batteries, so ask that store for its location and service information.

For fit, follow the vehicle-fit tool and your vehicle manufacturer’s requirements rather than choosing by appearance alone. A household-battery aisle lookup is not the right route for a vehicle battery.
