Neither product is still in its pre-order period. In the U.S., the Google TV Streamer (4K) and Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen) are regular retail products. Google’s U.S. Store lists the thermostat for $279.99, including one Nest Temperature Sensor (2nd gen); the Streamer’s U.S. launch price was $99.99. Retailer prices and stock can vary, so check the live listing before you pay.
Where to buy each Google device
| Product | Official price information | Where to check | What to verify |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google TV Streamer (4K) | $99.99 U.S. launch price, announced by Google in August 2024; no current price is established here. | Google Store or Best Buy | Live price, seller, condition, delivery or pickup date, and return terms. |
| Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen) | $279.99 on Google’s U.S. product page, with one Nest Temperature Sensor (2nd gen) included. | Google Store, Best Buy, or Target | Current price, color, included sensor, seller, local availability, and installation options. |
Google advertises free shipping and returns and offers professional installation through the thermostat purchase flow; check the product page for the terms and availability that apply to your location. Retailer listings can differ by color, ZIP code, date, seller, and condition. A displayed price from a marketplace seller or an open-box listing may not match the price or terms for a new item sold directly by the retailer.
Where to buy the Google TV Streamer (4K)
Google announced the Streamer at $99.99 in the U.S., with pre-orders opening August 6, 2024, and retail availability planned for September 24, 2024. It is no longer a pre-order item. Start at the Google Store or check Best Buy’s Google device listings for current price and stock.
Do not treat an older discount as a live offer: Google’s 2026 promotion listed the Streamer at $79.99 only from June 4 through June 28, 2026. That offer has ended. The available Best Buy price results differed, so they are not a reliable current quote; confirm the price on the listing at checkout.

Where to buy the Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen)
Use the full name Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen). “Nest Thermostat (4th Gen)” is imprecise and can be confused with Google’s separate, non-learning Nest Thermostat. Google’s U.S. product page lists the fourth-generation Learning Thermostat at $279.99 and shows one Nest Temperature Sensor (2nd gen) in the bundle. It is controlled through the Google Home app and is Matter-certified.
Buy from the Google Store product page, or compare the live listings at Best Buy and Target. The thermostat has been listed in Polished Silver, Polished Obsidian, and Polished Gold at Best Buy. Confirm the selected color and that the sensor is included in the particular listing you choose.

Google’s $239.99 promotion for the thermostat ran from June 4 through June 28, 2026, and should not be assumed to be available now. Best Buy results also showed different prices at different crawl times, including $279.99 and a temporary $239.99; those snapshots do not establish today’s price. Target availability depends on location, so enter your ZIP code to check stock and delivery or pickup options.
Check thermostat compatibility before ordering
Availability does not guarantee that the thermostat will work with every home’s heating and cooling equipment. Best Buy’s product information describes compatibility with gas, electric, oil, forced-air, heat-pump, and radiant systems, but equipment, wiring, and installation conditions still matter. Retailer information says a C-wire is not required in most homes—not all homes. Use Google’s compatibility checker before buying, particularly if your system has a heat pump, humidifier, dehumidifier, or ventilation controls.

- Expand your home entertainment without buying a new TV; Google Chromecast lets you stream your favorites from your phone, tablet, or laptop; no remote needed
- Chromecast is easy to set up up; just plug it in, connect to Wi-Fi, and start streaming to turn your TV into a smart TV; it works with almost any TV that has an HDMI port
- Works with the apps you already know and love; enjoy shows, movies, music, games, sports, photos, live TV, and more from over 2,000 streaming apps in up to 1080p
- With Chromecast, you can stream, pause, play, or adjust the volume right from your phone with just a tap; while you’re streaming, you can still use your phone as you normally do
- Mirror your laptop screen or turn your tablet into an even better entertainment system; surf the web or see your media on the big screen
- App: Setup and control use the Google Home app. Do not assume the older Nest app is the primary setup route.
- Sensor: The included sensor measures conditions where it is placed and can help address room-to-room temperature differences. It does not create separate HVAC zones or independently control them. Google says each thermostat supports up to six additional Nest Temperature Sensors.
- Installation: Google advertises a professional installation option, but availability and cost depend on location. If your wiring or system compatibility is uncertain, confirm those details before ordering rather than assuming installation will be straightforward.
What the original pre-order dates mean
The dates below are historical launch information, not upcoming release dates. Google announced the two products in August 2024.
| Product | Pre-orders opened | Planned or announced availability | Original U.S. price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google TV Streamer (4K) | August 6, 2024 | September 24, 2024 | $99.99 |
| Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen) | August 2024 | August 20, 2024 | $279.99 |
Google’s original Streamer announcement and thermostat announcement document those launch details. The products have since moved from pre-order to ordinary retail availability.

Choosing where to order
The Google Store is the straightforward option if you want to buy directly from Google, check its current offers, or use the installation option shown for the thermostat. Best Buy or Target may suit you better if a live listing offers local pickup, a delivery window you prefer, or retailer return arrangements that fit your needs. Compare the final checkout price and terms rather than relying on a search result or an expired promotional price.
Quick Recap
- For any retailer, verify the seller, new or open-box condition, color and bundle contents, total price, return policy, and delivery date.
- For the thermostat, check HVAC compatibility and installation before purchase; an attractive device price does not resolve wiring or system-fit issues.
- For the Streamer, confirm your display connection and network needs, and budget separately for any services you intend to use.
Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
