The “$620 off” Pixel 7 Pro deal was real—but historical. On May 10, 2024, Woot advertised a new, unlocked Google Pixel 7 Pro with 512GB storage for $479 before tax. Droid Life calculated the headline discount against Google’s then-listed $1,099 price. The offer is not evidence of a $479 price today, so any current purchase requires checking live inventory, condition and warranty terms.
What the $620-off deal actually included
| Detail | Reported offer |
|---|---|
| Phone | Google Pixel 7 Pro |
| Storage | 512GB |
| Condition | Advertised as new, not refurbished or recertified |
| Network status | Unlocked |
| Retailer | Woot, an Amazon company |
| Price | $479 before applicable tax |
| Date reported | May 10, 2024 |
| Colors | Droid Life said all colors were offered, subject to inventory |
Droid Life reported the offer as a new low observed by that publication. That wording does not establish an independently audited, all-retailer record.
Was it really $620 off?
The arithmetic was straightforward:
$1,099 cited list price − $479 Woot price = $620 nominal savings
That is a list-price comparison, not a guarantee that buyers would have paid $1,099 elsewhere. Pixel 7 Pro street prices had already fallen, and the same report noted earlier deals. Sales tax increased the checkout total, and the promotion was limited-stock rather than a permanent MSRP cut.

Why the 512GB model mattered
Google offered the Pixel 7 Pro in 128GB, 256GB and 512GB capacities using UFS 3.1 storage. The 512GB version was the top configuration and cannot be expanded with a microSD card.
- Good fit: large local photo and video libraries, downloaded games and media, offline maps, or keeping the phone for several years without relying on cloud storage.
- Less compelling: people who stream most content, routinely offload photos, replace phones often, or could buy a newer model with longer support for similar money.
Hardware you got for $479
The original hardware remained premium in several respects, although its specifications do not prove it outperforms newer 2024–2026 phones.

The support-life trade-off
Google’s current policy gives the Pixel 7 Pro five years of operating-system and security updates starting when that model first became available on the Google Store in the United States. In May 2024, that left multiple years. By September 2026, the phone is substantially closer to the end of that window.

Pixel 8 and later receive Google’s newer seven-year commitment. The Pixel 7 Pro does not, so do not evaluate it as a seven-year-support phone.

Terms can vary by listing, stock batch and condition. Before paying, save the live product page and invoice, confirm that it says new rather than open-box or refurbished, and check whether coverage is from Google or Woot. Some Woot forum users described difficulty registering devices or obtaining Google warranty support; those anecdotes are a risk signal, not proof that every unit lacked coverage. Woot’s community discussion is available at this thread.
Who should have bought at $479 in 2024?
Buy case
- You specifically wanted 512GB and the listing was confirmed new and unlocked.
- You valued Pixel photography and a premium display more than having the newest processor.
- The warranty and return terms were clear and acceptable.
- The price was meaningfully below newer Pixel alternatives.
Skip case
- You wanted the longest possible software-support runway.
- You needed newer modem, camera-processing or AI features.
- The price approached a Pixel 8, Pixel 8a or newer refurbished Pixel 8 Pro.
- The listing’s condition or warranty was unclear.
- You strongly preferred a flat screen; buyer discussions have identified the Pixel 7 Pro’s curved edges as harder to protect and potentially more vulnerable, but that is user feedback rather than a universal defect.
How to judge a listing today
- Open the live Woot page and confirm the exact capacity is 512GB.
- Check the condition label, model number and unlocked status.
- Read the warranty sentence shown on that specific listing; do not rely on another Woot page.
- Add your address to see tax, shipping and the actual checkout total.
- Compare the total with a newer Pixel or a Google-refurbished model. Google’s refurbished Pixel 7 Pro page is here; its indexed description says refurbished units use authentic Google parts and include a one-year warranty, but no current price is established here.
- For newer-device promotions, check Google’s live offers page rather than reusing the 2024 price.
Verdict
At $479 in May 2024, a new unlocked Pixel 7 Pro with 512GB was an unusually strong configuration-per-dollar deal, and the $620 figure was mathematically correct against the cited $1,099 list price. It was not necessarily $620 below the prevailing market price, and it is not a current offer merely because the old Woot page remains indexed.

In September 2026, buy only if a live listing is still substantially cheaper than newer phones, the unit is genuinely new or the refurbished condition is acceptable, and the warranty is explicit. Otherwise, newer Pixel hardware—or a clearly covered Google-refurbished device—offers a safer long-term value.
