The preorder window for Microsoft’s 2TB Galaxy Black Special Edition Xbox Series X is over: Xbox announced the console for holiday 2024. Availability now depends on your country. At the latest check on October 8, 2026, the U.S. Xbox catalog marked it sold out, while the UK Xbox listing offered a Microsoft Store purchase path. Check the official local listing for current stock and price before paying.
Where can you buy the Galaxy Black Xbox Series X?
Start with Xbox’s official product pages, since availability and prices differ by region and can change. The U.S. Xbox console catalog labeled the Galaxy Black model sold out at the October 8, 2026 check. The UK Xbox listing showed a Microsoft Store purchase path and identified the console as a Microsoft Store exclusive. Those listings describe the observed status in those markets, not worldwide availability.
Use the Xbox site for your country and confirm that the product page identifies the 2TB Galaxy Black Special Edition before ordering. The official pages establish a Microsoft Store route in the UK; they do not establish that a particular third-party retailer has stock. Amazon stock, seller quality, and current marketplace prices were not verified, so check any marketplace listing and seller details directly rather than assuming it is available.
Is it still available to preorder?
No current preorder window is established. In its June 9, 2024 announcement, Xbox said preorder information and regional availability details would be shared later, and announced the console for holiday 2024. That was launch-period information, not evidence that preorders remain open. The current U.S. catalog status was sold out at the latest check, while the UK page showed a purchase path rather than a preorder offer.

What does the Galaxy Black Special Edition include?
This is a disc-drive Xbox Series X configuration with a 2TB SSD and a matching Galaxy Black wireless controller. Xbox says it keeps the Series X speed, performance, and features while providing twice the storage of the standard 1TB model. Its celestial finish uses silver, grey, and green details; the controller has a Galaxy Black D-pad and Velocity Green back case. See Xbox’s June 9, 2024 announcement for the launch description.
If you are comparing it with other Series X configurations, check storage, whether the console has a disc drive, included controller design, local availability, and current local price. Xbox’s product page distinguishes the 1TB disc-drive Carbon Black, 1TB all-digital Robot White, and 2TB disc-drive Galaxy Black models: Xbox Series X consoles.

What does it cost?
Prices depend on region and timing. Xbox’s June 2024 announcement gave the Galaxy Black Special Edition original estimated retail pricing of $599.99 in the U.S. and €649.99 in Europe, with limited quantities in select markets. Those are historical launch ERPs, not guaranteed current prices. At the October 8, 2026 check, the U.S. Xbox product page displayed $799.99, while the UK page listed £589.99 and marked the model a Microsoft Store exclusive. These are separate regional page listings, not directly comparable prices.
Before purchasing, check the local official listing for the price and whether the item can actually be added to your cart. A displayed price alone does not establish that inventory is available.
