The original official hat: what the historical record shows
TIME reported on August 8, 2024, that the campaign store’s original hat cost $40 and was made in the United States by union labor. Its woodsman camouflage pattern and vivid orange lettering were intended, according to the campaign’s explanation reported by TIME, to reflect Tim Walz’s down-to-earth personal style.
