Lincoln is Ford Motor Company’s luxury automotive brand. Its vehicles are assembled at Ford and Ford joint-venture plants in the United States and China; the location depends on the model and market. Ford owns Lincoln, which it acquired in 1922.
Where are Lincoln vehicles made?
Ford’s global plant directory lists Lincoln production at facilities in the United States and China. The location varies by model, and in some cases the same nameplate appears at facilities in both countries.
| Lincoln model | Assembly location listed by Ford | Market context |
|---|---|---|
| Navigator | Kentucky Truck Plant, Louisville, Kentucky, United States | Ford’s current production announcement also identifies Louisville as the assembly site. [Ford global plant directory] [Ford production announcement] |
| Aviator | Chicago Assembly Plant, Chicago, Illinois, United States; Changan Ford’s Hangzhou operation, China | Ford identifies Chicago in its U.S. announcement and lists Aviator at Hangzhou in its global facility directory. | Nautilus | Changan Ford Hangzhou Vehicle Assembly Operation, China | Ford’s directory lists this facility for the model. [Ford global plant directory] |
| Corsair | Changan Ford Chongqing Powertrain and Vehicle Assembly Operation, China | Ford’s directory lists this facility for the model. [Ford global plant directory] |
| Zephyr | Changan Ford Chongqing Powertrain and Vehicle Assembly Operation, China | Ford’s directory lists Zephyr there. It is not among the four SUVs on Lincoln’s current U.S. model page. [Ford global plant directory] [Lincoln U.S. model page] |
What this means for U.S. buyers
Lincoln’s U.S. consumer lineup lists four SUVs: Corsair, Nautilus, Aviator and Navigator. That lineup alone does not establish where every model is assembled. Ford’s facility directory places the Corsair and Nautilus at Chinese plants, Navigator at Louisville, and Aviator at both Chicago and Hangzhou. The cited sources do not provide an exhaustive vehicle-by-vehicle origin guide for every trim and destination market.
How to find the origin of a particular Lincoln
Start with the vehicle’s model and the market for which it was built, then check the relevant current Ford facility listing. Because production assignments can change and Aviator is listed at plants in two countries, a model name alone may not settle the origin of a specific vehicle.

What is changing about U.S. production?
Ford announced that it plans to grow Lincoln production in the United States beginning in 2030 and phase out imports from China for the U.S. market. This is a future plan, not a completed change. Ford says Navigator is currently assembled in Louisville and Aviator in Chicago, and that both are exported to markets including Canada, Mexico and the Middle East. [Ford production announcement]
