Buick is owned by General Motors (GM), and its vehicles are made in more than one country. GM identifies Lansing Delta Township in Lansing, Michigan, as the U.S. assembly plant for the Buick Enclave; GM also confirms local production in China for the Envision SUV family and LaCrosse sedan. Those examples do not establish where every Buick model—or every vehicle sold in a particular market—is built.
Who owns Buick today?
Buick is a General Motors brand, not a separate publicly traded automaker. GM lists Buick among its vehicle brands and says its North American and international automotive operations develop, manufacture, and/or market vehicles under Buick and other GM brands. GM’s brand page and its 2026 corporate filing establish the current relationship.
That corporate relationship does not mean every vehicle is assembled by GM alone. GM’s filing also describes equity ownership stakes in entities serving other countries, primarily China, so it is important to distinguish the brand’s parent from the particular manufacturing arrangements in each market.
Where are Buick vehicles made?
The verified examples span the United States and China. Plant assignment is model-specific, and the available official information does not provide a complete global map of Buick models, factories, and sales destinations.

What Buick’s China lineup tells you—and what it does not
GM’s July 3, 2026 China sales release describes the Electra E7 and Electra ENCASA and identifies ELECTRA as Buick’s premium new-energy vehicle sub-brand in China. This is regional product context; it does not show that those models are sold or manufactured in the United States. GM China Q2 Sales: Business Momentum Continues.
China production milestones for the Envision and LaCrosse likewise should not be read as a full sourcing guide. The cited release confirms local production histories but does not specify each model’s current factory or where every unit sold outside China is assembled.

How Buick became part of GM
Buick’s relationship with GM goes back to the company’s origins. GM’s heritage account says Buick Motor Co. was brought to Flint, Michigan, in 1903; William C.
