Green Day’s “ultimate Nimrod” shirt was a limited charity T-shirt announced in August 2023. It adapted the artwork of the band’s 1997 album Nimrod with Donald Trump’s Fulton County booking photo. Green Day said the shirt would be sold for 72 hours, with proceeds donated to Greater Good Music for food assistance connected to the Maui wildfires. The sources establish the announcement, not a final fundraising total or whether the shirt is available now.
What was the “Ultimate Nimrod” shirt?
Green Day used Trump’s Atlanta booking photo, released after his August 24, 2023 booking at the Fulton County Jail, in a design based on the cover art for Nimrod, the band’s 1997 album. The band announced the shirt on August 25 and called it the “ultimate Nimrod” shirt. The design also played on “Good Riddance,” a song associated with the album. Contemporary reports described the shirt as a “Nimrod 45” design and reported a price of $35 at the time of the 2023 release.

The San Francisco Chronicle’s August 26, 2023 report, updated August 29, and Loudwire’s August 27, 2023 coverage described the image and period price.
Where were the proceeds supposed to go?
Green Day said proceeds from the limited-edition sale would be donated to Greater Good Music, which the announcement described as bringing food to people affected by the Maui wildfires. The announcement joked about the Giuliani Legal Defense Fund by crossing out its name before identifying Greater Good Music as the recipient; the crossed-out reference was not the charity receiving the proceeds.

The San Francisco Chronicle reproduced the band’s wording: “Good Riddance. The ultimate Nimrod shirt is available for 72 hours only.” The announcement continued: “Limited edition shirt proceeds will be donated to ~~The Giuliani Legal Defense Fund~~ @greatergoodmusiccharity, which brings food to those affected by the Maui wildfires.” The Independent’s August 28, 2023 report also covered the charity purpose.
The available reports do not establish how much the campaign raised or how many meals it funded. The stated donation purpose should not be confused with a verified impact total.

Is the original shirt still available?
Current inventory is not established by the contemporary reports. Green Day described the offer as available for 72 hours in August 2023, so those reports do not support treating it as an active listing today. A later listing found through a search for “Green Day Nimrod T-shirt” would need to be checked separately for its design, seller, authenticity, current stock, and any stated charitable contribution. A resale listing should not be assumed to support Greater Good Music.
