The 1999 deal was a payment to Foreman and partners
Reuters reported that Salton paid Foreman and his partners $137.5 million in 1999 for the use of his name on the grill and other goods. The reported amount was paid to Foreman and partners collectively. It should not be described as Foreman’s individual take-home proceeds or treated as his net worth.
Foreman described substantial payments, but no audited lifetime total
Parade reported that the exact amount Foreman earned from grill sales was unknown. In a 2014 AARP interview, when asked whether estimates placed his grill earnings above $200 million, he replied, “Much more. How boxing fits into the picture
