What Embraer said it planned to announce
In a September 4, 2025 report, Reuters said Embraer expected to make an announcement in Washington on September 10, alongside a gathering of aerospace leaders. The company characterized it as “the first of its kind ever made in the United States,” as quoted by Reuters. The report did not identify a named company speaker for that wording. Reuters said the announcement’s details were confidential at the time and Embraer declined further comment. A person familiar with the matter told Reuters it was not connected with Embraer’s industrial footprint. The report also said the company had not announced an immediate new jet model. What the available information does—and does not—confirm

- Not established: The announcement’s subject or outcome.
- Not supported as descriptions of that announcement: A new factory, a U.S. purchase of the C-390 military transport aircraft, or a new jet model.
In particular, Reuters separately reported that Embraer said it could build a $500 million U.S. plant for the C-390 if Washington chose to buy the aircraft.
