If your Instamart order is late, open that order in the Swiggy app and check its live status and estimated arrival time (ETA), then contact support through the order’s in-app help option if the ETA has passed or the status appears stuck. Keep the order ID and payment record handy. If the order was canceled, check the cancellation reason and refund status before taking further action.
What to do when an Instamart order is late
- Open the affected order. In the Swiggy app, go to the order and review its current status and ETA. The order ID is the key reference for tracking and support. Swiggy’s tracking documentation describes tracking details that can include status, ETA, delivery-partner location, store, address, items and payment information. The documentation describes a capability; what appears in the consumer app can vary by app version or city.
- Use the order’s help route if the ETA has passed or tracking is stuck. Explain that the order is delayed and include the order ID. Save the payment record and, if useful, a screenshot of the order status and ETA.
- Ask support for the next step. Request an updated ETA or clarification on whether the order is still active. Do not assume that an old ETA or an unchanged status means the order has been canceled.
If Instamart canceled the order
Open the same order and check the cancellation reason and refund status. If you prepaid, ask support whether a refund has been initiated, how it will be returned, and what processing estimate applies to your order. The published policy does not establish a fixed timeline for every refund.
Swiggy’s general Refund & Cancellation policy describes possible refund eligibility for prepaid orders, including when delivery could not occur within two hours or when a merchant cancels for reasons not attributable to the buyer. Eligibility is assessed, and the refund may be partial or full depending on the issue; this is not a guaranteed outcome for every order.
That policy should not be read as a blanket Instamart promise. Swiggy’s terms distinguish Instamart from the general food-delivery service, refer to Instamart’s own terms, and say Instamart product complaints are resolved by Instamart. Follow the terms and support response shown for your specific order.

If you are thinking about canceling a delayed order
Check the cancellation terms displayed for that order and contact support before canceling. Swiggy’s general policy says buyers are generally not entitled to cancel after placing an order and may be charged a full cancellation fee. The policy also describes conditional refund cases for prepaid orders, but that does not mean a buyer-requested cancellation will qualify. Confirm the likely charge or refund treatment for your Instamart order in the app rather than assuming that a delay makes cancellation free.
Keep these details for support
- The order ID, shown in the order details.
- The latest order status and ETA, if displayed.
- Your payment record for a prepaid order.
- The cancellation reason or any relevant status screenshots.
Swiggy’s tracking documentation and checkout documentation identify the order ID as important for tracking or support-related flows. The checkout page is developer-facing; use the in-app help route for consumer support, and verify any phone number shown there before calling.
