Before booking, get the specific hotel to confirm that it can accommodate your RV’s full dimensions and setup on your travel dates. “RV-friendly” and “parking available” do not guarantee space for every motorhome, trailer, or tow vehicle—or a spot you can reserve.
1. Confirm that the exact property accepts your RV setup
Hotel parking policies vary by property. Westgate’s general policy says oversized vehicles and RVs generally cannot be accommodated, while some specific properties make exceptions. By contrast, individual IHG and Best Western listings expressly mention RVs, trailers, trucks, or motorcoaches. Those examples show why a hotel brand’s general policy or a search-result label is not enough: check the page for the property where you plan to stay, then confirm directly with that hotel.

Ask about the entire vehicle arrangement, not just the motorhome. Explain whether a trailer will stay attached, whether a tow vehicle needs its own space, and whether you will unhitch after arrival. A hotel’s approval of one vehicle type does not establish that it can fit your complete setup.

2. Give the hotel the measurements and configuration
Have your RV’s length and height ready. Include the trailer and tow vehicle in your description, and state whether they will be connected or parked separately. Ask the hotel to confirm that the full configuration can fit on your specific dates.
#1 Best Overall
Do not rely on a general assurance such as “we have oversized parking.” The Quality Inn Winslow I-40 property says parking is limited and directs guests with long or unusual configurations to call before booking. The Inn at Bellefield / Hyde Park likewise asks guests with particularly large commercial vehicles or RVs to call to confirm space availability. These are property-specific instructions, not a shared hotel-industry standard.
3. Check the lot type, clearance, and route into the space
If parking is in a garage
Ask for the clearance on the route you will actually use, including any entrance, ramp, or lower section. Clearance can change within one garage: Archer Hotel Redmond reports 8-foot clearance at the entry and through the first section, then 7 feet through the rest. If your vehicle is too tall for any part of that route, ask whether another parking arrangement is available before booking.
Rank #2
If parking is outdoors
An outdoor lot avoids a garage ceiling, but it does not guarantee a space wide or long enough, or one that is free when you arrive. Ask the hotel to confirm that the outdoor area can take your vehicle and any connected or separate trailer or tow vehicle.

“Parking available” may mean first come, first served. Westgate says availability is first come, first served at many properties and may not be guaranteed during busy periods. Ask the front desk whether it can hold a suitable RV space for your stay, and whether that confirmation is a reservation or only a best-effort note.
5. Verify the full cost and arrival arrangements
If a listing advertises free parking, check whether that applies to your RV and to each additional vehicle or trailer. Property pages can specify vehicle types, outdoor lots, capacity, fees, and access details, but those terms are specific to the listing and may change. Confirm the current terms directly for your dates.
Before you pay, ask where to park, when you can access the lot, whether overnight access is allowed, and whether there are instructions for arriving with or unhitching a trailer. If security or a particular entrance matters to you, ask the hotel how those arrangements work rather than assuming that general parking information covers them.

A call script you can use
“I’m considering a stay on [dates]. My RV is [length] long and [height] high. I’ll have [describe trailer or tow vehicle], and [it will remain attached / I will park it separately]. Can your property accommodate the complete setup? Is the space outdoors or in a garage, what clearance applies along the full route, and can you reserve or guarantee a suitable space? What is the total parking cost, and are there arrival or overnight-access instructions?”
Save the hotel’s reply and note who confirmed it and when. If your vehicle setup or dates change, contact the property again before relying on the earlier confirmation.
