What did the Bremer Bay doctor job offer include?
The reported package combined a choice of pay arrangements with housing and a vehicle. PerthNow described the role as a rural generalist position with Livingston Medical, working four days per week and alternating between its Bremer Bay and Jerramungup practices.

The salary range and percentage of billings were presented as alternatives, not as a combined payment. The report did not provide the contract terms, billings forecast, expenses, workload or on-call arrangements needed to calculate likely earnings or decide which option would pay more in practice.
What clinical work was expected?
Livingston Medical chief executive Rachel Livingston said the practice needed a doctor with broad skills in general practice, emergency work, mental health, obstetrics and anaesthetics. She described the desired clinician as “the Swiss army knife of doctors really” and said, “Being the only doctor in the town has its challenges, so we need someone of a high calibre.”

That description signals a wide rural-generalist remit rather than a narrowly defined consulting role. The report does not set out credential requirements, the precise division of duties, hospital or procedural arrangements, or the extent of after-hours responsibility.
Why was the role presented as important to the area?
PerthNow reported that the successful applicant would be the only doctor in the shire and that the nearest GP was almost 200 km away in Albany. Those are statements from the May 2024 report, not a verified current service map.

At the time, Shire of Jerramungup president Joanne Iffla said incumbent GP Dr Felicity Paget would remain until a replacement was found. Iffla said the shire was working with Livingston Medical to ensure “the practice and patients are provided with a seamless transition.” This was a contemporaneous assurance about the planned transition, not confirmation of current staffing.
