A 2024 article claimed Reagan would open to $6–9 million, but its forecast timing and method are not established. The Numbers reports a $7,650,720 three-day opening weekend for Reagan—within that range—and $3,665,664 for AfrAId. Reagan then grossed $10,300,760 across the four-day Labor Day frame, a different measure.
What the forecast claimed—and what the records show
The exact-title article result from DocumentaryTube gives Reagan a projected opening range of $6–9 million. The result is listed as published March 11, 2026, well after the film’s August 30, 2024 domestic opening. It does not establish that the range was a contemporaneous pre-release forecast or explain a verifiable forecasting method, so it should be treated as a claim made by that article, not as industry consensus or confirmed tracking.
The Numbers reports Reagan’s opening weekend at $7,650,720, placing the three-day result inside the article’s stated range. That comparison shows the reported outcome fell between the endpoints; it does not validate the forecast’s timing or method.

The Numbers’ AfrAId release page and its Reagan release page provide the retrospective film figures. These are reported box-office totals, not a record of what audiences or forecasters knew before opening.
Why the Labor Day total is higher
Labor Day weekend in 2024 ran from August 30 through September 2, according to Box Office Mojo. It therefore includes four days, while an opening-weekend figure conventionally refers here to Friday through Sunday. Box Office Mojo lists Reagan’s four-day holiday-period gross as $10,300,760. That total should not be compared directly with the three-day opening figure as if they covered the same dates.

In short, the three-day number is the appropriate comparison with the claimed $6–9 million opening range; the four-day figure answers a different question about the full holiday frame.
