On the domestic box-office chart for the weekend dated May 30, 2025, Lilo & Stitch ranked first with $61,808,626, followed by Mission: Impossible—The Final Reckoning at $27,218,020. New release Karate Kid: Legends debuted third with $20,302,016, according to The Numbers’ weekend chart.

Who won the domestic box office this weekend?

Lilo & Stitch led the domestic chart for the weekend dated May 30, 2025. Mission: Impossible—The Final Reckoning held second place, and Karate Kid: Legends opened in third. The chart’s theater counts and weekend grosses were:

Rank Film Release status Domestic weekend gross Theaters
1 Lilo & Stitch Holdover $61,808,626 4,410
2 Mission: Impossible—The Final Reckoning Holdover $27,218,020 3,861
3 Karate Kid: Legends New release $20,302,016 3,809

These are domestic chart figures for that weekend, not worldwide totals. The chart places the two established releases ahead of the newcomer; the ranking alone does not establish whether any film was profitable.

How much did Karate Kid: Legends make opening weekend?

The chart reports $20,302,016 in domestic weekend gross. That is distinct from the forecast published the day before: on May 31, 2025, TheWrap reported an opening-day gross of $7.5 million and projected a $21 million to $23 million weekend. The later chart figure is lower than that contemporaneous projection; a forecast should not be mistaken for the reported chart result. TheWrap’s May 31 report described the film as a new legacy sequel and reported a $45 million budget. The budget figure is attributed to that report, and the opening weekend alone is not a complete measure of the film’s commercial outcome.

Why was Lilo & Stitch still on top?

The May 30 chart records its domestic weekend lead, while Disney’s May 27 announcement provides a separate snapshot of its broader run. Disney said the film had reached $361.3 million worldwide, including $182.7 million in North America, as of that date. The studio also characterized its launch as the largest four-day Memorial Day weekend opening domestically. Those cumulative totals and the record description are Disney’s reported figures and claim, not weekend grosses from the May 30 chart. Disney’s May 27 announcement quoted Disney Entertainment co-chairman Alan Bergman calling it a “history-making launch.”

Keep the UK figures separate from the domestic chart

The cited UK roundup reports a different territory and time window: Digital Cinema Media lists Friday-to-Sunday UK openings of £8 million for Lilo & Stitch and £6.2 million for Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. These pound-denominated UK figures are not comparable to, or part of, the US domestic chart totals above. Digital Cinema Media’s UK roundup provides that separate market view.
