Stellantis has committed to adding two E-segment vehicles to Maserati’s future lineup, but it has not named them or provided launch dates, powertrains, or a Maserati-specific investment figure. CEO Antonio Filosa directed questions about the brand’s place in Stellantis to the company’s May 2026 Investor Day; the company then promised a detailed Maserati roadmap in Modena in December 2026. As of October 7, 2026, that roadmap is still pending.
What did Filosa say about Maserati?
During Stellantis’s February 26, 2026, full-year results Q&A, an analyst asked about Maserati’s future after a portfolio review. Filosa did not announce a sale, closure, or product decision. Instead, he referred questions about Maserati and the wider brand portfolio to the May 21 Investor Day: “Then for details on Maserati, as on all of the brand portfolio, I will invite you to attend our Investor Day May 21st.” Stellantis’s results Q&A therefore signposted a later strategy update rather than resolving the brand’s status.
What has Stellantis committed to?
At its May 2026 FaSTLAne 2030 strategy announcement, Stellantis said it plans to strengthen Maserati’s future by adding two E-segment vehicles. It also said it would share a detailed roadmap in Modena in December 2026. The announcement makes the two-vehicle commitment clear, but leaves the product and execution details open. - Promised: A detailed roadmap in Modena in December 2026.
- Not identified in the announcement: Vehicle names or body styles, launch timing, powertrains, market availability, or a Maserati-specific investment amount.
“E-segment” identifies a vehicle-size category; it does not, by itself, reveal what the two models will be. Until Stellantis publishes the roadmap, assigning them names or describing them as launch-ready would go beyond the company’s statement.

How much is Stellantis investing in the plan?
Stellantis described FaSTLAne 2030 as a €60 billion, five-year group strategy. It said more than €24 billion—40% of total research and development and capital expenditure over that five-year period—would go to global platforms, powertrains, and new technologies. Those are group-wide figures, not an announced Maserati budget. The May announcement does not state how much of the plan, if any, is allocated specifically to Maserati.
What does Maserati’s current lineup tell us?
In a June 18, 2026, update, Maserati announced refreshed Grecale, GranTurismo, and GranCabrio models, describing continued use of the V6 Nettuno engine alongside updates to its Folgore range. That confirms ongoing activity across the existing lineup, but Maserati did not say these refreshed models are the two future E-segment vehicles. Is Maserati staying in Stellantis?
The cited company statements do not announce that Maserati is leaving Stellantis, being sold, or being closed. Filosa’s February answer referred the portfolio question to the May event, and Stellantis subsequently announced plans to strengthen Maserati’s future with two vehicles. That is evidence of a stated product commitment, but it does not provide a separate, detailed explanation of Maserati’s long-term ownership or organizational arrangements.
Leadership changes elsewhere in Stellantis’s European organization have been reported, including prior changes affecting Maserati. Those changes provide organizational context, not proof that the brand has been sold or that its strategy has been abandoned. What remains unknown until December?
The December roadmap is the next stated opportunity to learn how Stellantis intends to put the two-vehicle commitment into practice. Readers will need the company to specify:
- Which models it plans to add and their body styles.
- When they are expected to launch and in which markets.
- Whether they will use combustion, hybrid, electric, or other powertrains.
- What investment, if any, Stellantis identifies specifically for Maserati.
Until those details are published, the most accurate description is a strategic commitment with important product and financial specifics still undisclosed—not a resolved plan for Maserati’s entire future.
