The event was scheduled for May 20–21 at the Marina del Rey Marriott in Los Angeles. GamesBeat’s announcement framed the appearance around the game’s success.
The published agenda described a Scopely session titled “Small Screens, Big Business: Scopely leaders discuss the road to mobile game success.” It listed Driver and Ferreira, with GamesBeat’s Dean Takahashi as moderator, from noon to 12:30 p.m. The planned discussion was about building a leading mobile-games business, Scopely’s growth and lessons from its path. The Summit agenda is the source for those schedule details.
After the event, GamesBeat published an edited transcript describing a fireside chat between Driver and Ferreira, moderated by Takahashi. That post-event account is distinct from the April announcement: the announcement named three executives, while the agenda and transcript describe a session or fireside chat featuring the two co-CEOs. The edited transcript says the conversation explored Scopely as a product in its own right—not just any one game—and connected the company’s approach to the Summit’s theme of resilience and adaptation.

What did Scopely’s co-CEOs say about the game?
Development took seven years, according to Driver
In GamesBeat’s edited transcript, Driver said: “We’ve talked publicly about how it took seven years from the time we started it until the time it was globally released.” He also said the team restarted with new designs more than once. The goal was a company built for repeat success
Ferreira described the ambition as broader than getting one game to gain traction: “We thought it was important in the beginning to not just try to build a single product or just get traction, but really have a blueprint for a company that could have repeated success over long periods of time.” The transcript’s central point was that Scopely wanted organizational capabilities that could support future hits rather than depend on a single one.

GamesBeat reported in its 2024 event coverage that MONOPOLY GO! generated $2 billion in revenue about 10 months after launch. That is a reported milestone, not an independently audited game-specific figure in the cited coverage. The announcement and post-event transcript both include the figure; neither supplies a breakdown of in-app spending or an audit.

A later figure appears in Savvy Games Group’s 2024 annual report: it says MONOPOLY GO! was the fastest mobile game in history to reach $3 billion in revenue. The report labels the Scopely statistics as source data from Scopely. This is a later company-reported milestone, not independent verification, and it should not be treated as a directly audited continuation of GamesBeat’s earlier report. Savvy Games Group’s 2024 annual report also lists more than 2.4K employees worldwide. GamesBeat’s May 2024 transcript introduction reported more than 2,300 employees; those are period-specific workforce figures and not necessarily directly comparable snapshots.

Hasbro describes a physical MONOPOLY GO! tabletop game as a social tabletop version inspired by the mobile app. It is a separate physical product, not a requirement for playing the app. Hasbro also lists a classic MONOPOLY board game; the Summit discussion, however, concerned Scopely’s mobile-games business rather than board-game purchasing.
