What the Humphries ring’s auction tells us
The ring Kardashian received during her marriage to Kris Humphries was reported as a 20.5-carat Lorraine Schwartz piece valued at $2 million. Forbes identified its center stone as a 16.21-carat rectangular-cut diamond, I color and VS1 clarity, with two approximately 1.80-carat trapeze-cut side diamonds. Those reported characteristics and valuation do not establish what the ring would sell for in another transaction.

Christie’s sold the ring in New York in October 2013 for $749,000 including buyer’s premium, according to contemporaneous reporting by Forbes and JCK. Forbes reported a $620,000 bid before commission and fees. JCK said the auction estimate was $300,000–$500,000 and that the lot was listed as “property of a gentleman.” The auction price is a realized transaction figure; the earlier $2 million number was a reported valuation. Neither figure establishes the ring’s current market value. JCK’s pre-auction report also quoted a Humphries spokesperson saying the ring was his property following the marriage dissolution.

The $10 million wedding estimate covers multiple items, while the engagement-ring figures concern individual rings. The Humphries ring has a reported auction result, whereas the wedding and Kanye West ring figures are estimates or reported valuation ranges. Because these numbers describe different objects and different measures of value, putting them in a simple highest-to-lowest ranking would be misleading.
For context, Mouawad says its L’Incomparable necklace was valued at US$55 million and that its record was certified on January 9, 2013. That is a separate record claim and not a Kardashian piece. Mouawad’s description should not be confused with reporting about jewelry Kardashian wore.
