TechTarget is the legacy name for a specialist technology publishing network now part of Informa TechTarget. The combined company publishes technology information and research for business professionals and sells marketing services—including audience data, advertising, custom content, and demand generation—to B2B technology vendors.

What does TechTarget do?

TechTarget connects two sides of the business technology market. Technology professionals use its specialist editorial and research content; technology vendors use its services to reach business buyers. Informa TechTarget describes its portfolio as spanning strategy, intent data, content, and awareness, with account-based marketing and demand generation among its solutions.

  • Publishing and research: Specialist coverage of technology markets and professional issues, alongside research and advisory services.
  • Audience and intent data: Tools and data designed to help vendors identify and understand potential buyers.
  • Marketing services: Digital advertising, custom content, events and video, and demand-generation programs.

These are company-described offerings, not an independent assessment of their effectiveness. The company’s about page reports more than 220 digital properties and over 50 million opted-in technology buyers; those are company claims, not independently measured audience figures. Is TechTarget part of Informa?

Yes. Informa Tech’s digital businesses and TechTarget combined on December 2, 2024, creating Informa TechTarget. Under the terms announced at closing, Informa PLC contributed $350 million in cash and Informa Tech’s digital businesses for an approximately 57% stake. Former TechTarget shareholders received the cash consideration and retained approximately 43% of the combined company. Trading under Nasdaq ticker TTGT began December 3, 2024, according to the closing announcement. These ownership figures describe the transaction at closing. December 2, 2024 closing announcement

The announcement also reported more than 2,000 employees, 7,500 customers worldwide, over 750 editors, journalists, and expert industry analysts, more than 220 digital editorial brands, and an audience of 50 million B2B technology and line-of-business professionals worldwide. These are figures Informa TechTarget reported in 2024, not independently verified current counts.

What brands and topics are in the network?

The portfolio combines specialist publishing, research, data, and media brands. Company materials identify Omdia and Enterprise Strategy Group (ESG) in research and advisory, Priority Engine in intent data, and BrightTALK for webinar communities and video. The transaction announcement also named Industry Dive, InformationWeek, Light Reading, Heavy Reading, and AI Business among the Informa Tech digital businesses brought into the combination.

What is TechTarget used for?

For readers, TechTarget’s sites are sources of specialist information about workplace technology and business IT. For vendors, Informa TechTarget’s services are intended to support market research, buyer-audience targeting, brand awareness, and lead generation. A vendor evaluating a service can distinguish among research and advisory, intent data, content creation, and campaign execution; the right category depends on whether the need is market insight, identifying potential accounts, publishing material, or reaching an audience.
