Why the Sheffield United sale price is not his net worth
ITV News Calendar reported that COH Sports’ 2024 takeover of Sheffield United was thought to be worth £105 million. That is a reported value for a club transaction—not an estimate of Abdullah’s total wealth. Personal net worth would require information about all his assets and liabilities, which the cited reporting does not establish.

Other club-related amounts also describe something narrower than personal wealth:
- £10 million: ITV reported that Abdullah invested this amount for a 50% stake in the club in 2013.
- £5 million: ITV reported that he later purchased Kevin McCabe’s share.
- £18 million: The Guardian reported that Abdullah had invested this much in the club by February 2018.
- £35–40 million: The Guardian reported this valuation range for Sheffield United properties during the 2019 legal dispute. It concerns club properties, not Abdullah’s personal assets.

Why Abdullah is now a former owner
BBC Sport reported that COH Sports’ takeover was completed in December 2024, ending Abdullah’s 11-year tenure as Sheffield United owner. The club’s change of ownership does not, by itself, reveal his personal net worth. In a BBC Radio Sheffield interview reported by the BBC, Abdullah described club ownership as “emotionally exhausting” because of its ups and downs; that comment offers personal context, not evidence about his finances.
