It records historical offer prices, displays price-history charts, and can email you when a tracked product reaches a target price. That makes it useful for checking whether an advertised discount is genuinely attractive—or for waiting until an item falls within your budget.

camelcamelcamel is an independent service focused on tracking prices on supported Amazon marketplaces. Its main features are historical price charts and price watches that can send email alerts when a recorded offer reaches your chosen threshold. The service describes itself as free and supports Amazon marketplaces including the United States, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, and the United Kingdom.

What does camelcamelcamel track?
Product pages generally separate prices into three categories:
- Amazon: Amazon’s own offer.
- New: new offers from third-party sellers, which may not be the same as Amazon’s offer.
- Used: used offers, which are not a like-for-like comparison with a new product.
Charts provide recorded high, low, and average values for the relevant price type. Do not treat the three lines as interchangeable. Sellers may differ in condition, fulfillment, shipping, warranty, return policy, and seller reputation. Always open Amazon and verify the exact offer before buying. camelcamelcamel also advises checking Amazon because its displayed data can differ from the current offer.
How to check an Amazon product’s price history
- Open the Amazon product page.
- Copy the full URL from your browser’s address bar.
- Open camelcamelcamel.
- Paste the URL into the search field and submit it.
- Choose the relevant chart: Amazon, new, or used.
- Compare the current recorded price with the chart’s low, high, average, and recent movement.
The official first-watch guide documents this URL-based workflow. History depth and completeness can vary by product, marketplace, listing, and offer type. A product may have a limited chart because it is new, has changed variations, or has had few recorded changes.

How to read the chart
- Below the recent average: potentially attractive, but not necessarily the best recorded price.
- Near the recorded low: possibly a strong buying opportunity, provided the variant and offer terms match.
- A sharp isolated spike: may reflect a temporary seller change, scarcity, or unusual offer conditions.
- A long flat period: may indicate stable pricing or limited recorded changes.
- A recent drop without a long-term low: the item may be discounted compared with recent prices but not at its historical best.
Use “recorded low” rather than “lowest price ever.” The chart reflects available recorded data, not every price the product may have had.
How to set a camelcamelcamel price alert
Website method
- Paste the Amazon URL into camelcamelcamel’s search bar.
- On the results page, find the price row you want to monitor—often Amazon’s offer.
- Hover over the price-tag icon beside that price.
- Choose a shortcut such as “-$0.01”, or enter a specific target price.
- Click Start Tracking.
- Enter an email address if prompted and complete any requested email verification.
The automatic “-$0.01” option is useful when you want an alert for any small drop below the current listed price. A specific target is better when you have a firm budget, such as $75. You can also choose a target near a previous low if you are willing to wait, but a historical low may not return.
Set the target for the correct product variant and condition. Also consider shipping, coupons, membership restrictions, and how soon you need the item. An alert is based on camelcamelcamel’s tracked offer data; it does not guarantee an instant notification or a particular final checkout total.
Do you need a camelcamelcamel account?
No. Registration is optional, and you can create a watch without signing up. If you use the no-account workflow, save the first alert email or its management link so you can later edit or remove the watch.

How to use The Camelizer extension
The Camelizer is camelcamelcamel’s browser add-on. According to camelcamelcamel’s official materials, it supports Chrome, Firefox, and Safari and can display charts while you browse supported Amazon product pages.
- Install The Camelizer from camelcamelcamel’s official page or a verified browser-extension listing.
- Open an Amazon product page.
- Select the Camelizer icon in your browser toolbar.
- Review the historical chart and select the relevant offer type.
- Set a target price and create a watch if desired.
- Sign in or associate an email address if the extension requests it.
The Camelizer is a third-party extension, not official Amazon software. Install it only from a trusted, verified source and review the permissions shown by your browser.
How to use the bookmarklet

How to import an Amazon wishlist
Registered camelcamelcamel users can import products from any public Amazon list, including a Wishlist. Submit the public list URL; Amazon login credentials are not required. camelcamelcamel creates editable watches for eligible products.
Products marked purchased or already received may be excluded. Amazon’s list pages and privacy controls can change, so an import may not behave identically over time. Make sure the list is public before submitting its URL.
RSS feeds instead of email alerts
camelcamelcamel search results include RSS links for each price type. RSS can be useful if you track many products or prefer a feed reader and fewer email messages. It is a feed-based option, not a guarantee of instant push notification.

Also confirm that the product is the same size, color, capacity, model, and bundle. When should you buy?
Price history supports a decision; it does not predict the next price move. Buying now may make sense when you need the item soon, the price is close to the recorded low, stock is volatile, or the likely savings from waiting are smaller than the inconvenience.
Waiting may be reasonable when the item is nonessential, a major seasonal sale is approaching, the chart shows repeated predictable drops, or the current price is only slightly below average. Do not wait solely because the chart shows an old low that has not returned for a long time.
camelcamelcamel versus Amazon’s price-history tools
Amazon now offers native price-history and price-alert features on eligible products. Amazon says shoppers may select Price history on an eligible product page or ask Alexa for Shopping about prior pricing. Its announced views include 30-, 90-, and 365-day periods, although availability, interface, rollout, and chart depth vary by product and marketplace. Amazon said in May 2026 that 365-day insights were rolling out in the United States, United Kingdom, and India, while price history was available to customers in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and India.
Amazon’s tools are better for convenience and native product-page context. camelcamelcamel may be preferable if you want a dedicated watch-management workflow, email alerts, RSS feeds, wishlist importing, or potentially longer-running historical context. Amazon has also announced target-price alerts and, in some contexts, Auto-Buy at a target price; eligibility and account or payment requirements apply.

Keepa is another specialist Amazon tracking and analysis service. Its browser listing describes price-history charts, tracking, and trend-analysis features.
- Choose camelcamelcamel for a straightforward shopper workflow centered on historical prices and basic target alerts.
- Consider Keepa if you want deeper Amazon charts, trend analysis, and broader product-research features.
Keepa’s current plans and prices can change; verify its live pricing before relying on a subscription comparison.
Is camelcamelcamel worth using?
For patient Amazon shoppers, yes. Checking the chart before buying can reveal that a supposed sale is ordinary, while a price watch lets you wait without repeatedly checking the listing. It is less suitable if you need instant repricing data, shop across many retailers, need mobile push alerts, or require detailed seller, inventory, sales-rank, or marketplace analytics.
