Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Reddit can show you what some investors are debating about Intel, but it cannot reliably tell you what Intel shares will do. As of October 8, 2026, Intel’s Q3 results were still pending: the company had scheduled its report for October 29 and issued guidance of $15.8–16.8 billion in revenue. Treat Reddit posts as questions to verify against company disclosures, not as a buy or sell signal.
What the Reddit discussion does—and does not—tell you
A sampled thread in r/intelstock focused on Intel’s upcoming Q3 report, possible revenue, the stock’s reaction, and whether foundry customer progress supports the investment case. Commenters expressed both optimism and skepticism. One speculated that revenue could reach $17 billion while the stock fell; others debated whether an anchor customer would demonstrate Intel’s ability to serve foundry clients. These are competing opinions, not verified results.
The thread is self-selected and cannot establish consensus among investors or predict returns. Its useful role is to surface claims and assumptions worth checking. A prediction about earnings is different from a reported result; a forecast about the share price is different from evidence about Intel’s business.
What Intel had actually disclosed by October 8, 2026
Q3 report date and company guidance
Intel announced on October 6 that it would report Q3 2026 results after market close on October 29, with a webcast scheduled for 2 p.m. PDT. The results had not been released as of October 8. The company’s Q3 estimates were revenue of $15.8–16.8 billion, GAAP gross margin of 41.0%, non-GAAP gross margin of 42.0%, diluted GAAP EPS of $0.31, and diluted non-GAAP EPS of $0.38. These are management’s guidance, not actual performance. Intel’s announcement said event materials and a replay would be available through Investor Relations.

When results are released, compare actual figures with the guidance and distinguish GAAP from non-GAAP measures. A post that simply says “revenue beat” or “margins missed” is incomplete unless it identifies the metric, period, and comparison.
Foundry activity: a real figure, not proof of long-term success
Intel reported $293 million in external foundry, assembly, and test revenue in Q2 2026, versus $22 million in Q2 2025. That is measurable third-party activity, but one quarter’s revenue does not establish that the foundry business can reach durable scale or profitability. The metric also refers to external foundry, assembly, and test revenue—not Intel’s total revenue. Intel’s Q2 filing provides the reported figure and broader operating context.

Costs, execution, and capital structure
The same Q2 filing describes restructuring, lower operating expenses associated with headcount reductions and other cost measures, and an inventory-related charge. These details matter alongside revenue and margins: lower expenses can affect reported results, while manufacturing and product execution remain separate questions.
Intel’s newsroom archive lists an August 10, 2026 proposed $15 billion common-stock offering, followed on August 11 by an announcement that it had priced and upsized the offering to $20 billion. Those announcements make financing and share count relevant to a portfolio assessment, but the archive alone does not establish the final share issuance or its per-share effect. Review the offering documents before drawing conclusions about dilution. Intel’s newsroom archive lists the announcements.

How to check an Intel claim before acting on it
- Identify what kind of statement it is. Separate a company-reported historical figure or official announcement from a commenter’s estimate, interpretation, or price prediction.
- Check the time frame. Q2 revenue is a reported historical result; Q3 guidance is a forward-looking estimate; the Q3 result was still pending on October 8.
- Check the metric. Confirm whether the claim refers to GAAP or non-GAAP results, total revenue or external foundry revenue, and whether a figure is guidance or actual performance.
- Look for the investment mechanism. Ask whether the claim concerns operating performance, manufacturing or product execution, or capital structure and share count. A foundry customer discussion, for example, is not itself evidence of profitability.
- Interrogate price predictions. Ask what assumptions about earnings expectations and valuation would make the predicted move plausible. The cited company disclosures do not support a target price.
How Reddit fits into a portfolio decision
Use the thread to discover what other retail investors are discussing, then test each material claim against Intel’s filings and announcements. Do not treat a handful of comments as a sentiment measure, earnings forecast, or substitute for assessing how Intel fits your portfolio. The relevant evidence available on October 8 was an upcoming reporting date, company guidance, Q2 operating disclosures, and announced financing activity—not Intel’s yet-to-be-reported Q3 performance.
