Sheffield Wednesday’s takeover by Arise Capital Partners is complete, and Dejphon Chansiri’s ownership of the club has ended. But the available announcements do not establish what personal action Chansiri will take next. The confirmed news is about the change in ownership and the club’s position after leaving administration—not a verified plan by Chansiri.
What is confirmed about Chansiri and the takeover?
Sheffield Wednesday’s joint administrators announced on 5 May 2026 that the sale to Arise Capital Partners LLC had completed. The consortium is led by David Storch, alongside Michael Storch and Tom Costin. BTG, the administrators, said the transaction was complete; BBC Sport had reported on 2 May that the purchase officially ended Chansiri’s ownership. BBC Sport
That answers whether Chansiri remains the owner: the reported sale ended his ownership. It does not answer what he intends to do next. Neither the administrators’ completion announcement nor the BBC report identifies a specific personal move by him, so claims that he is preparing a statement, court action or another business venture would be speculation.
What changes for Sheffield Wednesday after administration?
No further 15-point deduction for exiting administration
The administrators said the English Football League Board decided not to impose a further 15-point deduction on the club for its exit from administration. They said Wednesday would begin the coming season on zero points. They also reported that wage and transfer parameters had been agreed with the EFL. BTG

Budget restrictions remain
BBC Sport reported that the club would remain under budget restrictions for two seasons, while still being permitted to sign new players. The end of the ownership and administration process therefore did not mean an immediate return to unrestricted spending. BBC Sport
The new owner’s stated aim
In the administrators’ 5 May completion notice, David Storch said on behalf of Arise Capital Partners: “Sheffield Wednesday deserves stability, ambition and a clear direction. That is what we are here to deliver.” This is the consortium’s stated intention, not evidence of a particular action Chansiri plans to take.

Why does a public register still show Chansiri?
The Companies House page reviewed still listed Chansiri as an active person with significant control and reported that he owned 75% or more of the shares. Companies House also cautions that it does not check the accuracy of information filed with it. That register entry conflicts with the administrators’ announcement that the sale completed, so it should be treated as an apparent filing lag or discrepancy—not as proof that the takeover failed or that Chansiri remains the owner.

A supporters’ club page reproducing an EFL statement dated 1 December 2025 said Chansiri was prohibited from being an owner or director of any EFL club for three years. The same reproduced statement said the EFL and Sheffield Wednesday were still discussing the club’s fee restriction, with that issue expected to be resolved as part of the exit from administration. That is a dated reproduction of the EFL statement, not confirmation of the restriction’s current application after later developments. It provides context, but does not establish what Chansiri will do next.
