Siquance became Quobly in July 2023 and announced a €19 million seed financing round. The Grenoble quantum-computing company said it would use the funding to expand research and development, recruit specialists, support software development, and build industrial partnerships. Quobly is developing processors based on silicon spin qubits; it is not a consumer quantum-computer brand.
What happened to Siquance?
Siquance announced on 12 July 2023 that it had changed its name to Quobly and closed a €19 million first financing round. The new name combines “Quantum” and “Grenoble.” The company was created in Grenoble in late November 2022 as a spin-out from CEA-Leti and CNRS. Quobly’s announcement described the rebrand and financing.
Who funded Quobly’s €19 million round?
The 2023 seed round was led by Quantonation, Bpifrance through its Deep Tech 2030 fund, Supernova Invest, and Innovacom. Crédit Agricole Alpes Développement, CEA Investissement, Caisse d’Epargne Rhône Alpes, and BNP Paribas also participated. The €19 million figure is the amount announced for that financing round, not a recurring investment or a product price. Bpifrance’s financing announcement also identifies the round and investors.
What is Quobly building?
Quobly is developing quantum processors that use silicon spin qubits. The company’s strategy is to build on established semiconductor manufacturing capabilities as a route toward scaling the technology and achieving fault-tolerant quantum computing. This describes an engineering goal and approach, not proof that a large-scale fault-tolerant machine is already available.

How the 2023 funding was intended to help
Quobly said the financing would let it double its R&D effort, create remote-access interfaces needed for software development, hire international specialists in silicon, quantum, software, and computing, and develop a reference ecosystem of industrial partners. CEO Maud Vinet summed up the effort in the company announcement: “Cannot say it was easy, but we made it.”
Is Quobly’s quantum computer available yet?
The cited milestones point to development and industrialization, not an established consumer product. Bpifrance reported in June 2026 that Quobly’s 2023–2025 seed phase demonstrated the feasibility of silicon qubits in standard semiconductor processes, and that the company was targeting its first commercial product by the end of 2026. A target date is a plan, not confirmation that a product has launched or is available to buy.

A separate 2025 Q100T program announcement reported €21 million of support for accelerating industrial production of a silicon chip with 100 physical qubits: €15 million in Bpifrance France 2030 grant funding and €6 million in shareholder equity. This is distinct from the €19 million seed round announced in 2023, and it describes program support toward production rather than a retail offering.

For readers asking what became of Siquance, the short answer is that it continued as Quobly, with the same Grenoble roots and a focus on silicon-based quantum processors. The funding announcements show a company moving from its initial research and development phase toward industrialization. They do not establish that Quobly has released a generally available quantum computer or a public cloud service.
