Right Stuf Anime did not simply disappear without explanation: Crunchyroll acquired the retailer in 2022, then announced that its separate online store would redirect to the Crunchyroll Store starting October 10, 2023. Crunchyroll said it planned to bring Right Stuf’s products and inventory into its store, but the announcement does not establish that every listing, account detail, or regional shipping option transferred unchanged.
Crunchyroll acquired Right Stuf in 2022
On August 4, 2022, Crunchyroll announced that it had completed its acquisition of Right Stuf. The company said the deal would expand its ecommerce offerings for anime fans and collectors. Crunchyroll’s acquisition announcement described Right Stuf as a retailer of anime home video, manga, music, figures, collectibles, games, and other merchandise. It also noted that Right Stuf offered licensed anime home-video products through its own label.

Right Stuf CEO Shawne Kleckner described the company’s mission as connecting anime fans with the products they love, a role the store had filled for decades. The Right Stuf store began redirecting in October 2023
On September 22, 2023, Crunchyroll announced that the Right Stuf store would redirect to the Crunchyroll Store beginning October 10, 2023. Crunchyroll characterized the change as an integration intended to bring Right Stuf products and inventory into its store. The practical change was that Right Stuf would no longer operate as a separate store destination. Crunchyroll’s integration announcement is the official source for the redirect and the stated plan.

What the change meant for products and orders
Products
The announced integration concerned Right Stuf’s catalog, including physical anime releases and other merchandise such as manga, figures, music, and collectibles. That announcement is not proof that every former Right Stuf listing remains available, that every edition or product detail carried over, or that availability is identical in every region. Check the current Crunchyroll Store listing for a specific item before relying on an old Right Stuf product page.
Orders and preorders placed during the transition
Crunchyroll’s transition-era Right Stuf orders FAQ said that open Right Stuf orders and preorders would still be processed and fulfilled by Right Stuf, and that each store would handle its own returns. That was guidance for the transition, not confirmation of current order or return policy. For a present-day issue with an old order, preorder, return, or account, consult Crunchyroll’s current official support rather than assuming the historical arrangement still applies.

What is not established about legacy accounts and the catalog
The acquisition and integration announcements establish the ownership change and planned store redirect; they do not explain whether all legacy account details moved, how former Right Stuf customers should access old records, or whether every item and regional shipping option transferred unchanged. If you are trying to locate an old order or a particular product, use current official support or verify the live store details rather than treating the 2023 announcement as a complete guide to today’s procedures.
