Why did the Northbridge pretzel shop close?
Pretzel Australia said it could not renew the lease for its first shop because of the State Government’s Perth Cultural Centre redevelopment. In a farewell post dated January 6, 2025, the business wrote: “Despite our best efforts, we’ve not been able to renew our lease due to the state governments redevelopment of the Perth Cultural Centre.” Pretzel Australia’s farewell post

The official Perth Cultural Centre project page says the precinct became a live construction site on January 6, 2025, as part of a rejuvenation intended to improve access, landscaping, lighting and public spaces. When did the shop shut?
Pretzel Australia’s farewell post is dated January 6, 2025, and says the shop had opened exactly eight years earlier. The post announced that the pink container was leaving its former location, but it does not establish the last day customers could buy pretzels there.
