Flipstik did not simply disappear after Shark Tank. The reusable phone-mount company won meaningful post-show funding, expanded into retailers including Target, Best Buy and QVC, launched new products and was later described by UMSL as having a valuation above $5 million. However, Lori Greiner’s televised offer apparently did not close, and Flipstik’s current inventory and operating scale remain difficult to verify.
Based on publicly available information through August 18, 2026, the most accurate answer is that Flipstik appears to have survived and achieved substantial growth after the show, but it should not automatically be described as either a fully active, thriving company or a failed business.

What was Flipstik?
Flipstik is a reusable phone accessory that combines a kickstand with a mounting surface. It is designed to attach a phone or phone case to smooth, flat surfaces for hands-free viewing, video calls, selfies, navigation and content creation.
The company describes its adhesive material as “synthetic setae,” inspired by NASA-related technology. That does not mean NASA invented Flipstik. Founder Akeem Shannon developed the consumer product and its applications. Flipstik’s own description of the product and adhesive technology is available on its company blog.

Unlike a conventional suction cup, Flipstik is intended to use a reusable adhesive surface. Its performance depends on the phone, case, surface and condition of the adhesive; it is not designed to stick reliably to every material.
When did Flipstik appear on Shark Tank?
Flipstik appeared on Season 12, Episode 4 of Shark Tank, which aired on November 6, 2020. Shannon used a rap during his pitch, making the segment one of the more memorable presentations from that season. The episode date is listed by Shark Tank Companies.
At the time of the pitch, Flipstik had reportedly generated about $115,000 in lifetime sales, while recent monthly sales were only around $1,500. Those numbers put the focus on whether the company could scale manufacturing, marketing and distribution rather than remain a small direct-to-consumer product.

On television, yes. Lori Greiner offered $100,000 for 25% of the company, and Shannon accepted the offer on camera.
In the real world, the deal apparently did not close. Later reporting says the agreement fell through during the post-show process, commonly described as due diligence. That distinction matters: accepting an offer during filming is not the same as completing an investment after the parties review the company’s finances, contracts, inventory and legal structure.
Public sources are inconsistent. Some institutional biographies later described Shannon as having made a deal with Greiner, while post-show reporting says the investment was never finalized. The safest wording is that Greiner offered the investment and Shannon accepted on air, but available reporting indicates the deal did not close. There is not enough reliable public evidence to state that Greiner ultimately owned 25% of Flipstik.
What happened after the episode?
Flipstik reportedly experienced a sharp sales increase after its episode aired. One post-show account said the company doubled its cumulative lifetime sales after broadcast and added approximately $100,000 in holiday-season sales.

The company also obtained funding that did not depend on the Greiner deal:
- $50,000 from Arch Grants.
- $50,000 in equity-free funding through UMSL’s Anchor Accelerator program.
These awards were grants or nondilutive funding, not evidence that Lori Greiner invested. UMSL reported on the accelerator support and Flipstik’s retail progress in its 2022 coverage.
How far did Flipstik expand?
Flipstik’s post-show story included more than a temporary publicity boost. During 2021 through 2023, the company was reported or described by institutional sources as selling through or working with:
- Target
- Best Buy
- QVC
- AT&T
- Pilot Flying J travel centers
- Amazon and Walmart marketplaces
- Flipstik’s own website
A historical update said Flipstik entered approximately 300 Target stores in April 2022 and later reached 338 stores nationwide. That is a dated distribution milestone, not proof that the product remains stocked at Target in 2026.

In December 2022, UMSL reported that Flipstik was working with retailers including Target, Best Buy and QVC and was considering international expansion. The university’s account is available here.
What products did Flipstik launch?
The company expanded beyond its original product. Reported additions included:
- Flipstik Pro
- Flipstik Grip
- MagStik
- MagSafe-compatible variants
- Finger-loop and multiple-angle kickstand designs
The MagSafe products were intended to pair the Flipstik mounting concept with a magnetic attachment system, reducing the need to place adhesive directly on newer compatible iPhones. Product-line expansion shows that the company continued developing its offering, but it does not by itself prove current inventory or sales volume.
How successful did Flipstik become?
Several figures appear in coverage of Flipstik’s growth, but they measure different things and should not be combined:
| Figure | What it refers to | When reported |
|---|---|---|
| About $115,000 | Lifetime sales at the time of the Shark Tank pitch | 2020 |
| More than $300,000 | Sales later reported by UMSL | 2022 |
| More than $5 million | Valuation reported by UMSL | December 2022 |
| About $5 million annually | A later secondary claim about revenue | Reported for 2024; not independently verified |
UMSL said Flipstik’s valuation had grown from roughly $400,000 to more than $5 million. A valuation is not the same as revenue, profit, cash in the bank or the founder’s net worth. Similarly, the later $5 million annual-revenue figure should be treated as an attributed, unverified claim rather than audited financial information.
Flipstik also reportedly raised approximately $1.15 million in December 2022 from multiple investors, including Build-A-Bear Workshop founder Maxine Clark. Some coverage rounds that amount to $1.2 million, but $1.15 million is the more precise reported figure. This was outside investment and should not be presented as Shark-backed funding.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is Flipstik still in business in 2026?
The evidence is mixed.
Evidence suggesting continued operation:
- The official Flipstik website remains live.
- The site continues to describe the company and its products.
- It includes shopping calls to action and product listings.
- The founder’s public profile has continued to identify him with Flipstik, even as his visible activity has increasingly emphasized speaking and entrepreneurship.
Evidence suggesting reduced or uncertain activity:
- February 2026 reporting found that many products had been unavailable on Flipstik’s own site for an extended period.
- Listings at AT&T, Best Buy and Newegg were reportedly out of stock.
- Amazon inventory appeared limited and was often supplied by third-party sellers.
- Current Target availability was unclear, despite the company’s earlier retail presence.
A live website does not prove that a company is fulfilling orders at meaningful volume, maintaining a staffed operation or generating substantial revenue. Conversely, inconsistent inventory does not prove that a company has closed, gone bankrupt or ceased operating.
The responsible conclusion is that Flipstik’s survival is probable, but its current scale, inventory position, revenue and day-to-day operating status are not independently verified. The most recent observations are also marketplace snapshots and can change quickly.

Should you buy Flipstik?
If you are considering one, check the current listing rather than relying on historical retailer coverage. The official store is getflipstik.com, but confirm that the product is in stock, identify who fulfills the order and review the return policy before paying.
Compatibility and reliability checks
- Case: Standard smooth cases may work better than thick, textured or heavily curved cases.
- Surface: Flipstik is intended for smooth, flat surfaces. Dusty, wet, porous or textured surfaces may not hold reliably.
- Reuse: The company promotes repeated use, including claims of thousands of uses, but real-world life depends on cleaning, handling and the surfaces involved.
- Safety: A phone mounted to a wall, mirror or vehicle surface can fall. Test the hold before leaving the phone unattended or placing it above people or fragile objects.
- Heat and vibration: Dashboard use, direct sunlight and vehicle vibration can be more demanding than a desk or mirror.
- MagSafe: Magnetic versions may be more convenient for compatible iPhones, but compatibility with other phones and cases varies.
- Seller: A marketplace listing may be third-party supplied even when it uses the Flipstik brand. Check seller identity, stock, shipping and returns.
Flipstik may suit someone who wants a combined kickstand and reusable mounting accessory. It is a weaker fit for anyone needing a guaranteed car mount, support for a heavy device, attachment to rough surfaces or consistently available replacement stock. Conventional options from PopSockets, Peak Design Mobile, ESR or Spigen may be more appropriate depending on whether grip, MagSafe compatibility, a mounting ecosystem or established case compatibility matters most. These are alternatives, not independently tested rankings.
