EA’s global football franchise—first branded FIFA and now EA SPORTS FC—is the strongest answer to “What game has made EA the most money?” But the answer is at the franchise level: EA’s public filings do not establish which single release has earned the most over its lifetime or disclose a lifetime revenue total for the franchise.
Which EA game has made the most money?
The best-supported answer is EA’s global football franchise. Its annual releases and ongoing extra content are repeatedly identified by EA as important revenue drivers. That does not prove that a particular FIFA or EA SPORTS FC release is the company’s all-time top earner: EA’s public reporting does not provide a comparable lifetime-revenue ranking of individual games.
The name changed after EA’s licensing relationship with FIFA ended. Older releases use FIFA branding; the continuing franchise uses EA SPORTS FC. EA’s filings refer to it as the global football franchise. EA’s FY2026 Form 10-K identifies extra content for global football among the primary drivers of live-services revenue.
Why EA’s revenue figures don’t identify one winning game
EA reports revenue in categories that combine multiple titles and types of spending, rather than publishing a lifetime earnings statement for every release. In its FY2026 Form 10-K, the company defined full-game net revenue to include downloads and packaged goods. Live-services and other net revenue includes extra content for console, PC, and mobile games, as well as licensing, subscriptions, and advertising.

| EA FY2026 revenue category | Reported amount | What EA said drove it |
|---|---|---|
| Full-game net revenue | $2,148 million | Primarily FC 26, Battlefield 6, Madden NFL 26, and FC 25 |
| Live-services and other net revenue | $5,383 million | Primarily extra content for global football, American football, and The Sims |
These are company-wide fiscal-year totals, not amounts attributable to FIFA or EA SPORTS FC alone. The live-services category spans multiple franchises and may include content associated with a franchise across annual releases. Adding it to a title’s full-game sales—or treating the entire category as one game’s earnings—would misstate what EA disclosed.
The distinction is visible in earlier filings, too. EA’s FY2024 Form 10-K named FIFA 23 and EA SPORTS FC 24 among the leading contributors to its $7,562 million in total net revenue, alongside Apex Legends, Madden NFL 24, and The Sims 4. The filing also described live-services revenue as being driven by extra content across several franchises, including FIFA 23, FC 24, and the global football mobile business. Those grouped disclosures show the franchise’s importance, not the lifetime revenue of either annual game.

- Includes DualSense Wireless Controller, 1TB SSD, 2 Horizontal Stand Feet, HDMI Cable, AC power cord, USB cable, printed materials, ASTRO’s PLAYROOM (Pre-installed game)
- Vertical Stand sold seperately
EA’s FY2025 Form 10-K likewise discusses full-game and live-services net bookings separately and describes Ultimate Team within the global football franchise in grouped terms. Fiscal-year category figures and franchise-level commentary cannot be used to rank individual releases by lifetime earnings.
Does FIFA 23 hold EA’s all-time revenue record?
Not on the evidence EA published. In its May 9, 2023 results announcement, EA said: “In the six months since launch, EA SPORTS FIFA 23 has surpassed life-time sales of EA SPORTS FIFA 22, becoming the most successful launch in franchise history.” The statement establishes a sales milestone: FIFA 23 exceeded FIFA 22’s lifetime sales within six months and had the franchise’s most successful launch. It does not say FIFA 23 generated the most revenue of any EA game, nor does it compare lifetime revenue across the full EA catalog.

How much money does EA make from FIFA or EA SPORTS FC?
EA does not disclose a standalone lifetime revenue total for the global football franchise in the filings cited here. Its FY2026 disclosure reports $5,383 million in live-services and other net revenue across the company, primarily driven by extra content for global football, American football, and The Sims. That figure is not FIFA/FC revenue. EA also reports full-game revenue across several leading titles, rather than a separate lifetime total for each annual football release.
So the careful conclusion is that FIFA/EA SPORTS FC is the best-supported answer at the franchise level, while the all-time individual-game winner and its lifetime earnings are not established by these public disclosures. EA currently lists EA SPORTS FC 27 as a current installment; its availability does not answer the historical revenue question.
