Public reporting documents several substantial Bono-linked property interests, but it does not support a reliable ranking of eight things he currently owns. The best-documented examples include a Manhattan duplex reportedly bought for $15 million decades ago and investments in commercial property reported in 2017. Those figures and reports do not establish current market values or prove present ownership.
Why there is no reliable list of eight current assets
The available reporting mixes different kinds of evidence: a historical home purchase price, company-linked commercial property interests, residences mentioned without title records, and a business holding that was later sold. These cannot be ranked as though they were eight verified assets owned by Bono today. In particular, a company’s property is not automatically Bono’s personal property in full, and a past purchase price is not a current valuation.
The strongest documented examples are therefore best read as reported historical holdings, not a definitive inventory of Bono’s present wealth.
What Bono’s public property record does document
Commercial property interests reported in 2017
A 5 November 2017 investigation by The Irish Times, based on Paradise Papers documents, reported that Bono—whose legal name is Paul Hewson—had interests in a shopping centre in Utena, Lithuania, and the Silberpalais office building in Duisburg, Germany. The report described corporate structures and ownership history, including the Lithuanian property’s holding through a Guernsey company after earlier arrangements.

This establishes that the investigation reported Bono-linked interests at that time. It does not establish that he still owns an interest in either property, the size of any personal stake, or a current value for it.
San Remo duplex in Manhattan
A biographical overview reports that Bono bought a top-floor duplex at Manhattan’s San Remo from Steve Jobs for $15 million in the late 1980s or early 1990s. That is a reported historical purchase price, not a present-day valuation. The account does not verify current ownership or provide a current market estimate.

Other reported residences
The same overview mentions residences in Ireland, the south of France, and New York. It does not provide current title records or market values for each residence, so those references are insufficient to determine what Bono owns now or to compare the homes by price.
Former holdings that should not be counted as current possessions
The Clarence Hotel
Bono and U2 bandmate The Edge bought and refurbished Dublin’s Clarence Hotel, according to the same biographical overview. It reports that they sold the leasehold in 2019 and the property in 2023. The hotel is therefore a historical business holding, not a supported entry on a list of Bono’s current possessions.

Peter and the Wolf artwork
The overview also says Bono’s paintings created for a 2003 Peter and the Wolf book were auctioned. It does not document a valuable art collection retained by Bono, so those works cannot substantiate a current high-value asset claim.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What the evidence does not establish
- A ranked list of eight assets currently owned by Bono.
- Comparable current market values for the reported homes or commercial properties.
- Present ownership of every residence or investment mentioned in public accounts.
- Evidence that Bono owns a yacht or private jet.
Without reliable current ownership records and comparable valuations, assigning positions or price tags to eight items would create a false impression of precision. The defensible answer is narrower: public accounts identify several notable historical or reported property interests, but they do not provide enough evidence to say which eight things are currently Bono’s most expensive possessions.
