Carnival’s Celebration Key has both complimentary public amenities and optional paid upgrades. The public beach chairs, umbrellas and destination trams are free, according to Carnival; admission to its adults-only Pearl Cove Beach Club is a separate excursion. Carnival’s US listing displayed a starting price of $59.99 per person when checked in 2026, but that price can change. The available information does not establish which specific fee prompted the “ridiculous” or “money grab” characterization in the headline.
What costs extra at Celebration Key?
Visiting Celebration Key’s public destination areas does not require buying the Pearl Cove Beach Club excursion. Carnival describes public beach chairs and umbrellas as complimentary, and says trams around the destination are complimentary. Some attractions, rentals and upgraded spaces may cost extra.
- Pearl Cove Beach Club: A separately booked, adults-only beach-club excursion. Carnival’s US access-only listing displayed a starting price of $59.99 per person when retrieved in 2026.
- Suncastle waterslides: Carnival’s FAQ says access has a fee and that packages are available. Cabana and supervilla reservations include unlimited rides; daybed reservations do not.
- Food and drinks: Pearl Cove’s access-only product includes a welcome drink, but its restaurant and other food and drinks are available for separate purchase.
- Equipment rentals and other options: Carnival describes equipment rentals as paid options. The material available here does not establish a complete price list for rentals or every activity.
These distinctions matter: an optional excursion or rental charge is not the same as a mandatory fee to use the public beach.
