What CLOU reportedly showed at RE+
TechBullion reported on October 5, 2023, that CLOU ESS appeared at RE+ in Las Vegas the previous month, presented its Aqua series, and announced a U.S. company. The report also attributed remarks about the complexity of integrating energy storage to Guo Hong, CLOU Electronics’ Chief Strategy Expert. The located official CLOU announcement from June 2023 documents the Aqua products but concerns Intersolar Europe, not RE+; it does not independently confirm the RE+ appearance or U.S.-company announcement. TechBullion’s report is therefore the source for those event details.
The report attributed this comment to Guo Hong: “The integration of energy storage systems is not a simple patchwork, but a complex system that covers HVAC, power industry, electromechanical automation industry, etc.” This is the article’s account of his remarks, rather than a quotation independently verified against an interview transcript.
What was in the 2023 Aqua lineup?
CLOU’s June 2023 announcement describes three products for utility and commercial/industrial energy storage. The capacities and power rating below are manufacturer-stated specifications, not an independent product test. CLOU’s product announcement provides the figures.

These are project-oriented systems, not ordinary home batteries. The figures alone do not establish how a unit would perform at a particular site: project design, operating conditions, configuration, and the service and warranty terms all matter.
How to interpret CLOU’s performance figures
The same 2023 announcement gives performance claims for the Aqua products. CLOU reported more than 10,000 cycles, a 35% increase in service life compared with the previous generation, a system-level temperature difference within 5°C, and a 30% reduction in auxiliary power consumption. These are company-reported figures; the announcement does not make them independent test results or establish that every figure applies to every configuration or project.
For a buyer, those numbers are starting points for technical diligence, not a substitute for project-specific documentation. Ask how cycle life is defined and under what operating conditions, what the previous-generation comparison covers, how temperature difference is measured, and what baseline is used for auxiliary-power reduction. The announcement does not provide enough detail to treat the claims as guaranteed outcomes for an installation.
What “entire lifecycle service” can include
In an industrial battery-storage project, lifecycle service describes work across delivery and operation rather than a single product feature. CLOU’s service page describes a global service team, commissioning, training for customers and third parties, and warehouse support. A later CLOU announcement about a Chile project lists design, equipment supply, system integration, delivery, operations and maintenance (O&M), and after-sales support. The project announcement and CLOU’s service page provide the company’s descriptions of that scope.

- Design: planning the system around the project’s requirements.
- Equipment supply and integration: providing equipment and coordinating it into an operating system.
- Delivery and commissioning: getting equipment to the site and preparing it for operation.
- O&M and after-sales support: supporting the system after commissioning; the exact responsibilities depend on the contract.
- Training and warehouse support: service capabilities CLOU describes on its service page.
A service description does not by itself establish response times, availability, remedies, or performance guarantees. Those should be checked in the project contract, along with the division of responsibility between the supplier, integrator, operator, and other parties.
What the Chile agreement shows—and does not show
In July 2024, CLOU and Transelec S.A. announced an agreement for a 105 MW / 420 MWh energy storage project in Chile. CLOU said the project included a 20-year long-term service agreement. That term belongs to this announced project; it is not evidence that every CLOU customer receives 20 years of service. The announcement describes planned project scope, not an independent evaluation of delivery or operating results.

The Chile example illustrates how a long-term service arrangement can be part of a large storage project alongside equipment and integration. It does not disclose enough in the cited announcement to establish the agreement’s detailed obligations, pricing, availability commitments, or remedies. Those are contract-specific questions.

- Warranty coverage and service term, including what is excluded.
- Commissioning, training, O&M, after-sales support, and the parties responsible for each.
- Safety certifications and the documentation that applies to the proposed configuration and jurisdiction.
- Availability commitments, response times, and contractual remedies, if offered.
- Total project economics and the assumptions behind expected operating value.
The announcements establish CLOU’s stated product specifications and the scope of a later project example; they do not provide a like-for-like comparison with other vendors or independently verified financial returns. “Boosting industry revenue” should therefore be read as promotional language, not a quantified outcome.
