MSK Records launched in April 2022 as Musickeria’s recorded-music arm, with Believe named as its distribution partner. The four imprints announced were Sambabook, Noites Cariocas Discos, Orquestra Ouro Preto, and Blue Stage. Their projects grew out of samba, a live event, an orchestra, and a São Paulo concert venue, respectively.
What MSK Records announced in 2022
Musickeria introduced MSK Records in April 2022 as a recorded-music operation in partnership with Believe. The launch announcement described an initial slate planned for 2022, including projects involving Diogo Nogueira, Orquestra Ouro Preto, Baby do Brasil, and Pepeu Gomes. That was a planned slate, not confirmation that every named project was later released. Folha’s April 2022 launch report reported that Musickeria’s professionals had more than 30 years of experience across record companies, artist management, festivals, and brand projects; that is the report’s description of the team, not an independently measured company statistic.
The four MSK imprints
| Imprint | Project and recording context described at launch | Associated artists or institution |
|---|---|---|
| Sambabook | New recordings connected to samba and its composers. | Its project began with a João Nogueira tribute; later editions were associated with Martinho da Vila, Zeca Pagodinho, Dona Ivone Lara, and Jorge Aragão. |
| Noites Cariocas Discos | Recordings of performances at Noites Cariocas, a live event at Morro da Urca. | Diogo Nogueira and the duo Baby do Brasil and Pepeu Gomes were named as early releases in planning. |
| Orquestra Ouro Preto | A project formed with the orchestra, presented as a way to bring new audiences to concert music. | Orquestra Ouro Preto. |
| Blue Stage | Live-performance recordings linked to Blue Note São Paulo. Studio Alma handled capture, editing, mixing, and mastering for the recordings described in the launch article. | Artists performing at Blue Note São Paulo; the project was also linked to Studio Alma. |
The descriptions reflect the launch coverage and do not establish the complete or current catalog of any imprint. POPLine’s April 2022 article reported that Sambabook had more than 100 artists and 125 new recordings across five editions at that time.
How the four projects differ
- Sambabook is organized around samba compositions and new interpretations.
- Noites Cariocas Discos is tied to recordings from a particular live event at Morro da Urca.
- Orquestra Ouro Preto centers on the orchestra and concert music.
- Blue Stage documents performances associated with Blue Note São Paulo, with Studio Alma’s recording and post-production work described for the launch recordings.
Does Believe still distribute MSK Records?
Believe was named as MSK Records’ distribution partner in the April 2022 launch announcement. That is a dated account of the launch arrangement; it does not establish the distributor for every later or current MSK release.

A 2026 report on “Toccata,” a track by KVSH and Orquestra Ouro Preto released through MSK Records, names oneRPM as distributor and says the track was available on audio and video platforms. The 2026 report does not explain whether Believe’s relationship ended, changed scope, or continues for other releases. The available reports therefore support naming Believe for the 2022 launch, but not describing it as the distributor for all current MSK releases.

The April 2022 coverage documents the announced labels, their project origins, and elements of the planned initial slate. It does not establish a current audience size, streaming total, sales figure, or complete present-day release catalog. Nor does it identify physical editions such as CDs or vinyl. The clearest way to understand MSK’s four labels is as distinct recorded-music projects rooted in samba, a live event, an orchestra, and a concert venue.
